The present invention relates to a safety switching device for safely switching off an electrical load such as an electrically driven machine. The safety switching device has a failsafe disconnection unit and a non-failsafe signaling unit, both of which are supplied with an external control signal. The disconnection unit fail-safely switches off the electrical load as a function of the control signal but with a first delay. The signaling unit produces an external reporting signal as a function of the control signal in a non-delayed and non-failsafe manner.

A safety lock out switch system for the prevention of an unexpected restart of an electrically powered machine in whose main power circuit it is installed. Therein the power-free status of the power supply output of the system is confirmed visually. The system is configured so it is flexible, thus being able to be used in the most various types or sizes of machines. Technical aspects and safety aspects were taken into account therein so that the installation can be carried out in practically every country in the world.

System for reliable prevention of the restarting of a machine

A modular safety switching device is set up such that various signaling devices in a set of possible connectable signaling devices can be connected. In this case, a typical combination of inputs and outputs that are used is provided for each signaling device. The nature of the connection of the signaling device is unique for each signaling device within the set, by which the safety switching device can identify during startup, on the basis of the electrical connections that are made, which type of signaling device is connected and what function is required for identical signaling devices. The safety switching device automatically changes itself to the required operating mode in accordance with this association.
