Counterflow burner having a combustion chamber () to which combustible gas (B) and an oxidising agent () can be fed from opposite sides, having three planar substrates () which are interconnected, lying one above the other, the middle substrate () having the combustion chamber (), from which passages (), lying in the plane of the substrate, lead to the edge, the upper substrate () and the lower substrate () being closed, and at least the middle substrate () is produced using methods of microsystem technology.
