A suture needle apparatus includes a needle body and a radio-frequency identification ('RFID') chip disposed proximate to the needle body. The RFID chip is encoded with an identifying information associated with the suture needle apparatus. The RFID chip includes an electromagnetic coupling element. A suture thread is operatively coupled to the needle body. At least one of the needle body and the suture thread is an antenna selectively electromagnetically coupled to the RFID chip and, when coupled, is configured to wirelessly communicate the identifying information responsive to radio-frequency interrogation of the suture needle apparatus. A method of providing a suture needle apparatus is also disclosed.

Disclosed are systems and methods for enabling transfer of a drug from a first drug container to a second drug container including a drug identification component that recognizes a first drug container to retrieve drug identifying data for the drug, a storage medium that stores a site-specific database comprising attributes and associated values for a set of drugs including the drug in the first drug container, a processor that obtains the drug identifying data and the attributes and associated values for the drug and produces information about the drug using the drug identifying data and the attributes and associated values, a rules engine that applies one or more rules to the information about the drug to generate drug handling information, and an output unit that outputs markings comprising the drug handling information in human-readable or machine-readable form, or both, to be associated with the second container.

A time remaining display assembly for indicating the time remaining in a pressurized gas tank, adapted to be connected to a regulator having a flow rate adjuster for selecting one of a plurality of flow rate settings comprising an assembly coupled to the flow rate adjuster, the assembly having one or more time scales imprinted thereon, each time scale corresponding to one of the flow rate settings, each time scale indicating the time remaining in the tank as a function of gas pressure in the tank.
