A luminaire includes a housing, a light source, and a lens. The lens has a first side and a second side and at least one of the first side and the second side has optical features. The lens can be positioned in the luminaire in a first position with the first side facing upward and in a second position with the second side facing upward. The two options for positioning the lens within the luminaire provide two different distributions for light exiting the luminaire.

A non-circular optic is described that includes a base region, the base region including a rim and an exit surface. The non-circular optic further includes a projection that projects from the base region, the projection including a cavity. The cavity includes an open end, a bottom surface, and first, second, third, and fourth sidewalls that extend from the open end to the bottom surface. A first, second, third, and fourth total internally reflective surfaces each extend from the open end of the cavity to the rim of the base region.

A light fixture includes a housing that defines a first cavity. Further, the light fixture includes a light module that is disposed in the first cavity and is configured to emit light in a first direction. Furthermore, the light fixture includes a light redistribution apparatus that is coupled to the housing and is disposed in the first cavity to receive the light from the light module. The light redistribution apparatus includes an outer collar comprising a body that defines a second cavity. Further, the light redistribution apparatus includes a plurality of redirection segments that are disposed within the outer collar and across at least a portion of the second cavity such that they redirect a portion of the light that is emitted in the first direction towards a second direction and allow a remainder portion of the light to travel unobstructed towards the first direction.

A light shield includes a main portion and an overlap portion that is substantially perpendicular to the main portion. The main portion includes a first scored area and a base platform disposed below the first scored area. The first scored area includes a plurality of score lines that define one or more detachable panels. The overlap portion includes a second scored area and another base platform. The second scored area includes another plurality of score lines that define one or more detachable overlap panels. Further, the light shield includes a flange that extends substantially perpendicular to and along a length of a base platform of the light shield's main portion. A first interlocking arm extends from a first end of the flange and a second interlocking arm extends from a second end of the flange that is opposite to the first end.

A dual lens structure includes an outer elongated lens segment that has a substantially dome-shaped cross-section. The outer elongated lens segment includes a first optical pattern. The dual lens structure also includes inner elongated lens segment that has a substantially bell-shaped cross-section. The inner elongated lens segment includes a second optical pattern and is at least partially positioned within the outer elongated lens segment. The dual lens structure further includes a first segment coupled to a first longitudinal side of the outer elongated lens segment and to a first longitudinal side of the inner elongated lens segment. The dual lens structure also includes a second segment coupled to a second longitudinal side of the outer elongated lens segment and to a second longitudinal side of the inner elongated lens segment.

An optic can receive light from a dome of a light emitting diode and output light that, when cast upon a nearby flat surface, forms a strip of illumination. The optic can comprise a cavity that receives the light from the dome and an outer surface that emits the received light. An edge of the cavity can extend peripherally around the cavity in an oblong geometry. An edge of the outer surface can extend peripherally around the outer surface in an oblong geometry that is rotated ninety degrees relative to the oblong geometry of the cavity. A sidewall of the outer surface can comprise a region that is concave in nature or sags.

An optical wall wash system including at least one module comprised of a 2 by 2 array of fixed elements, each element including a reflector and a refractor; a fixture, including light emitting diodes (LEDs) affixed thereto, for securing the at least one module, wherein there is a 1:1 correspondence between elements and LEDs and the fixture is rotated a first angular amount from nadir and towards a wall. Each of the elements within the at least one module is further oriented a different angular amount in relation to its underlying LED from each other element within the at least one module.
