The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising DHA in combination with defined amounts of acrylates/VA copolymer and acrylates copolymer in a cosmetically acceptable base or delivery vehicle. When applied topically, these compositions have much less malodor that known DHA-containing products while providing a tan with even coloration that is more natural looking than many DHA-induced self-tans. Compositions according to the invention dry quickly after application to an anhydrous state, resist transfer through incidental contact, and exhibit long-wear. Compositions according to the invention are easily removed when scrubbed with water above a certain temperature, but not as easily removed with water below that temperature.

Self-tanning compositions

A cosmetic product includes a cup and a cosmetic substance. The cup has a sidewall and a floor member defining a cup cavity The floor member includes a first elongated ridge extending across the floor member and protruding from an inner surface of the floor member into the cup cavity and a second elongated ridge extending across the floor member, protruding from the inner surface of the floor member into the cup cavity, and intersecting the first elongated protrusion. At least a portion of the cosmetic substance is disposed within the cup cavity. A pressure sensitive adhesive is located between and contacts the cup, between the first elongated ridge and the second elongated ridge, and the cosmetic substance.

Cosmetic product and method of assembling a cosmetic product

A delayed release delivery system comprises a hydrophilic core particle having surface pores and containing a liquid. The particle is encapsulated in a polymer having a hydrophobic backbone and hydrophilic pendant groups. At least some of the surface pores adjacent the hydrophilic pendant groups are blocked in the presence of water and unblocked in the absence of water. The treated particle contains liquid in a weight ratio of the liquid to the porous core particle of at least 400:1.

Delayed release delivery systems and methods

Topical film forming compositions that are able to efficiently deliver active ingredients to keratinic surfaces in a timed release manner comprise a combination of acrylates copolymer and acrylates/VA copolymer, and a combination of propane-1,3 diol and glycerin. The sizes of the pores that develop in the dried film may be controlled or fine tuned.

Composition for controlled release of actives

The present invention relates to a shear-thinning or pseudoplastic cosmetic composition. Zeta potentials may be balanced such that a first ratio of the first zeta potential to the second zeta potential may be approximately 1:2. A second ratio of the first zeta potential to the third zeta potential may be approximately 1:2. And, a third ratio of the second zeta potential to the third zeta potential may be approximately 1:1. Balancing zeta potentials may ensure the shear-thinning cosmetic composition can dispense in its original viscous form and as a fine mist through a single device.

Single phase cosmetic adhesive compositions that are flexible and resistant to water below a selected temperature, 43&#xb0; C. for example. The adhesive compositions wear well, are smudge and flake resistant, as well as oil resistant, making them very suitable for long wear without adhesive failure. Adhesive compositions according to the invention comprise specific combinations of acrylates/VA copolymer and acrylates copolymer in a cosmetically acceptable base or delivery vehicle. Adhesive compositions according to the invention are hydrophilic and easily removed when scrubbed with water above a certain temperature, but not as easily removed with water below that temperature. The adhesive compositions are easy to manufacture, flexible and comfortable, and suitable for use on skin, lips, hair and nails, particularly to secure strips of false eyelashes and eyebrows, as well as individual lash and brow extensions. Cosmetic adhesives of the present invention may also be used to affix glitter or extensions to skin, hair, lips, or nails, and other cosmetic products to keratinic surfaces.

Cosmetic adhesive compositions

A cosmetic mask composition including a combination of acrylates/VA copolymer and acrylates copolymer. The cosmetic mask composition includes about 5% to 30% by weight of acrylates/VA copolymer, and about 0.2% to 2% by weight of acrylates copolymer. The ratio of acrylates/VA copolymer to acrylates copolymer is in the range of 15:1 to 25:1.

Long wear skincare compositions

A spray-on film forming composition is designed to work with another topical preparation, such as a conventional cosmetic foundation or skincare product. The film forming composition is in direct contact with the cosmetic or skincare product. The spray-on film forming composition may be applied underneath a topical preparation (as a primer), on top of a topical preparation (as a mask), or both, depending on the benefit conferred. The spray-on film forming compositions of the invention are able to improve wearability and removability, increase shine, and deliver active ingredients. They are very clear, flexible and comfortable.

Compositions according to the invention comprise specific combinations of acrylates/VA copolymer and acrylates copolymer in a cosmetically acceptable base or delivery vehicle. Compositions according to the invention are hydrophilic and easily removed when scrubbed with water above a certain temperature, but not as easily removed with water below that temperature. The compositions are easy to manufacture, flexible and comfortable, and suitable for use on skin, hair and nails, particularly as eye shadow, eyeliner, lip products, tattoo products and mascara. Compositions may be formulated as liquid eyeliner, liquid eye shadow, mascara, liquid lip products and tattoo products.

High shine, long wear color cosmetic compositions

Reduced-ethanol perfume compositions according to the invention comprise specific combinations of acrylates/VA copolymer and acrylates copolymer in an aqueous base or delivery vehicle. The perfume compositions according to the invention are easy to manufacture and provide an aqueous perfume composition that preserves aromatic integrity (intensity, duration and range), even in emulsion form. The most advantageous use of compositions of the invention are as parfums, eau de parfums, eau de toilettes, and colognes. However, the invention may also find use in many types of fragranced products, such as those used on the skin and hair of humans or animals, in cleaning products of all types, in air deodorizers, air fresheners, and more.

Aqueous perfume compositions

Cationically-charged particulates and compositions containing the cationically-charged particulates for application to keratinous materials are provided. Methods of preparing the cationically-charged particulates are also disclosed. Methods of increasing the cationic charge on particulates are also provided.

Mascara composition and method

Mascara compositions that comprise ammonium styrene/acrylate copolymer and acrylates/VA copolymer as a plasticizer, in an aqueous base. In the concentrations specified, herein, the resulting mascara compositions have various useful properties that can be controlled, such as transition temperature, viscosity, dry time and degree of contraction. Compositions of the invention are hydrophilic. Nevertheless, after application, the compositions dry to a contracted hydrophobic state that retains curl. The applied composition resists transfer, smudging, flaking, humidity, oil and sebum, making them very suitable as 24 hour long wear cosmetics. Some preferred embodiments comprise an unusually high concentration of nylon fibers, which enhances volume and lengthening of eyelashes.
