An electrical switching device, in particular a circuit breaker, is disclosed. In order to shorten the opening times of a switching device such as this, a snap-action system is used. The system interacts with the moving contact piece, of an electrical switching device having a switching shaft and having a moving contact piece which can be operated by the switching shaft, such that the moving contact piece is automatically moved to a switched-off position after opening of the contact by electrodynamic forces in the event of a short circuit or the like. The contact load on the moving contact piece decreases as the opening increases. This may result in better short-circuit current limiting. The overall production costs may be considerably reduced.

Electrical switching device

An attachment device for a housing is provided which is suitable for snapping onto a hat rail which is attached to a plate, and allows screw attachment to a plate. The housing base has a bevelled area on one side of a snap-action device and, in this area, screw eyelets are intgrated in a spacer which is arranged resiliently on the housing base. Said spacer is supported on the plate when screwed together.

Fastening device for a housing

A cover for protecting connecting leads and terminals of a switchgear, which extend to one side of the switchgear from an upper part, is made in the shape of a Z. One arm of the Z extends upwards, parallel to the outside wall of the upper part and the other arm of the Z extends downwards and covers the region of the terminals. The first arm is provided wih outward facing grooves or slots which have spacings like the spacings between the connecting leads when they are connected to the terminals. When the switchgear is disconnected from the leads and removed from the mounting, the Z-shaped cover is reversed and fastened to the mounting in its place. Since the leads are more or less rigid, the covering now extends over and protects them. Thus, the same cover, by simple reorientation, serves to protect the connecting leads when they are connected to the switchgear and when the switchgear is not in place.
