Systems and methods are provided for enabling quick interactions with a user's frequent contacts from a wrist-wearable device. The method includes displaying, at a wrist-wearable device, a user interface including a plurality of representations of contacts. The plurality of representations of contacts includes a first representation of a first contact that is associated with an image-sharing application, and a second representation of a second contact that is associated with a fitness application that allows a user of the wrist-wearable device to compare performance of a physical activity against at least the second contact. The method includes, responsive to an input selecting the first representation of the first contact, causing activation of an imaging device for capturing an image. The method includes responsive to another input, capturing an image using the imaging device and causing the image to be sent to the first contact via the image-sharing application.

Systems for enabling quick interactions with a user's frequent contacts from within a watch-face user interface of a wrist-wearable device and methods of use thereof

The disclosed computer-implemented method may include receiving an input identifying, for a group of users, a group fitness objective that is attainable through a combined effort of multiple individual users within the group of users. The method may also include tracking, via sensor data received from hardware sensors, an individual user's efforts with respect to the identified group fitness objective. The method may further include generating a combined user interface that illustrates both an individual progress indicator illustrating the individual user's efforts with respect to the group fitness objective, and a group progress indicator illustrating the group of users' efforts with respect to the group fitness objective. Furthermore, the method may include presenting the combined user interface on a display. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Interfaces and methods for representing coordinated objectives

Methods and systems for coordinating operation of a head-wearable device and an electronic device to assist a user in interacting with the electronic device are disclosed. A method includes, while a user interface is displayed on a display of an electronic device associated with a user, receiving sensor data from one or more sensors of the electronic device or from a head-wearable device worn by the user that is in communication with the electronic device. The method includes determining, based at least in part on the sensor data from the one or more sensors, whether an augmented-display criterion is satisfied for the electronic device, and, in accordance with a determination that the augmented-display criterion is satisfied, causing presentation, via a display of the head-wearable device, of an augmented representation of the user interface.

Systems and methods for coordinating operation of a head-wearable device and an electronic device to assist a user in interacting with the electronic device

Systems and methods are provided for determining when to present video data via a head-worn wearable device. A head-wearable device includes a display, one or more processors, and memory. The memory includes instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause a head-wearable device, when worn, to detect an electronic device associated with a user of the head-wearable device. The instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the head-wearable device, when worn, to in accordance with a determination that the electronic device is in proximity to the head-wearable device and presenting video data, and further in accordance with a determination that sensor data received at the head-wearable device indicates that a video-viewing precondition is present, cease to cause presentation of the video data at the electronic device, and cause the presentation of the video data at the display of the head-wearable device.

Coordinated video data presentation using a head-worn wearable device and a communicatively coupled electronic device, and methods of use thereof

Methods of interpreting in-air hand gestures based on orientations of a wrist-wearable device are provided. The method includes receiving, from sensors of a wrist-wearable device, data associated with performance of an in-air hand gesture during a first period of time. The method includes, when determining the data indicates that the wrist-wearable device had a first orientation when the in-air hand gesture was performed during the first period of time, causing performance of a first operation. The method includes receiving, from sensors of the wrist-wearable device, new data associated with performance of the in-air hand gesture during a second period of time, the second period of time being after the first period of time. The method includes, when determining that the new data indicates that the wrist-wearable device had a second orientation when the in-air hand gesture was performed during the second period of time, causing performance of a second operation.

Systems for interpreting thumb movements of in-air hand gestures for controlling user interfaces based on spatial orientations of a user's hand, and method of use thereof

An example method of adjusting a detachable display capsule of a wrist-wearable device to operationally complement a wearable-structure attachment is disclosed. The method includes, while a display capsule is configured to use a default set of display characteristics for operating-system or application-level user interfaces, receiving identifying information for a respective wearable structure, the display capsule being configured to detachably couple to one of a plurality of wearable structures to form a wrist-wearable device. In accordance with a determination that the display capsule should be adjusted based on the identifying information, the method further includes adjusting the display capsule (i) to cease using the first set of display characteristics and (ii) to instead use a customized set of display characteristics associated with the respective wearable structure. The customized set is distinct from the default set and is also used in conjunction with the operating-system or application-level user interfaces.

Techniques for adjusting a detachable display capsule of a wrist-wearable device to operationally complement a wearable-structure attachment, and wearable devices and systems for performing those techniques

Systems and methods are provided for video calling at a wrist-wearable device. The method includes receiving, at a wrist-wearable device that is coupled with one or more sensors, video data and audio data associated with a video call between a user of the wrist-wearable device and at least one other user distinct from the user. The method further includes while causing presentation of the video data via a display of the wrist-wearable device and the audio data via a speaker that is in communication with the wrist-wearable device, determining whether sensed data from the one or more sensors indicates that a video-viewing precondition is present at the wrist-wearable device. If the video-viewing precondition is not present at the wrist-wearable device, the method includes continuing to cause presentation of the audio data and ceasing to cause presentation of the video data at the wrist-wearable device.

Automatically switching between video and other calling modes based on sensor data from a wrist-wearable device, and methods of use thereof

Systems and methods are provided for coordinated video streaming and messaging using a wrist-wearable device and a head-worn wearable device. The method includes receiving an instruction to use a camera of a head-worn wearable device to capture video data. The method further includes, after receiving the instruction to use the camera of the head-worn wearable device to capture the video data, receiving, at a wrist-wearable device that is in communication with the head-worn wearable device, electronic messages from a viewer of the video stream and monitoring sensor data indicating one or both of a position of the head-worn wearable device and (ii) a position of the wrist-wearable device to determine when to display the electronic messages. The method also includes, in accordance with a determination that the sensor data indicates that a message-viewing precondition is present, displaying the electronic messages from the viewer of the video stream.

Coordinated video streaming and messaging using a wrist-wearable device and a head-worn wearable device, and methods of use thereof

Systems and methods are provided for determining when to cease capturing video via a head-worn wearable device. The method includes capturing, via a head-worn wearable device that includes a camera, video data. The method further includes, while capturing the video data, monitoring sensor data indicating one or both of (i) a position of the head-worn wearable device and (ii) a position of a wrist-wearable device that is communicatively coupled with the head-worn device to determine when to cease capturing the video data. The method further includes, in accordance with a determination that at least some of the sensor data indicates that one or both of (i) a video-capturing precondition is not present at the head-worn wearable device and (ii) a video-viewing precondition is present at the wrist-wearable device, ceasing to capture the video data and causing the video data to be displayed on a display of the wrist-wearable device.
