A method, system, and computer readable medium for translating a document is provided. A statistical machine translation engine is trained using a translation memory comprising an annotation. A translation rule associated with the annotation is defined. A source document in a source language is received. The source document comprises an instance of the annotation and a string. The string is translated using the statistical machine translation engine. The instance of the annotation is processed according to the translation rule. A target document in a target language is generated based on the translated string and the processed annotation.

Use of annotations in statistical machine translation

Embodiments of the present invention provide a system and method for providing a translation service. The method comprises providing a translation interface accessible via a network. The translation interface receives specialized data associated with a domain from a member. A text string written in a source language is received from the member via the translation interface. A domain-based translation engine is selected. The domain-based translation engine may be associated with a source language, a target language, and a domain. The text string is translated into the target language using, at least in part, the selected domain-based translation engine. The translated text string is transmitted to the member via the Internet. In some embodiments, a translation memory is generated based on the specialized data.

Customizable machine translation service

A method, system and computer readable medium for hosting a community in multiple languages is disclosed. The method comprises receiving a request from a first member of a community to post content within the community. The content is written in a first language. Next, the content is translated into a second language. Login information is received from a second member. The second member may be associated with a second language. Lastly, the translated content is displayed to the second member. The method may further comprise receiving feedback from the second member relating to the quality of the translation or post edited versions of the automatically produced translation.

Multi-lingual online community

A cassette handling system for sterilant filled cassettes employs RFID or other electromagnetic signal technology to track the cassettes. A method for tracking the sterilant cassettes includes the steps of reading for the presence of a cassette within a cassette processing area of the sterilizer by transmitting a non-optical electromagnetic signal between the cassette and a receiver on the sterilizer, via the electromagnetic signal transmitting identifying information between the cassette and the receiver, and verifying that a proper cassette is loaded into the sterilizer based upon the identifying information.

A machine translation (MT) system may utilize a phrase-based joint probability model. The model may be used to generate source and target language sentences simultaneously. In an embodiment, the model may learn phrase-to-phrase alignments from word-to-word alignments generated by a word-to-word statistical MT system. The system may utilize the joint probability model for both source-to-target and target-to-source translation applications.

A system for the in vivo detection of the effects of AD in the interior of an eye. A scanning polarimeter, including a residual retardance canceling system and an improved anterior segment retardance compensator, produces an optical analysis signal representing the birefringence of the retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) structures of the eye. The birefringence data is more accurate because of compensation for anterior segment birefringence and residual birefringence of optical components, such as, for example, the beam splitters, lenses, scanners and retarders. An electrical analysis signal representing a large (20 by 40 degrees) retardance map is produced and evaluated by an artificial neural network to produce an analysis classification signal representing the contribution of Alzheimer's disease to the birefringence of the retinal layer corresponding to the relationship of the electrical analysis signal to an analysis signal database.
