The present application relates to a steam iron () for ironing garments. The steam iron () comprises a steam generator (), an ironing plate () and a thermal bridge arrangement (). The steam generator () comprises a main body (A) and a heating element () to heat the main body (A). The thermal bridge arrangement () extends between the main body (A) and a thermal coupling area () of the ironing plate () to heat the ironing plate () by conduction of heat from the main body (A). The thermal bridge arrangement () comprises a first portion () extending in a first direction (A) away from the thermal coupling area () and a second portion () extending in a second direction (B) towards the thermal coupling area (). This invention allows promoting steam generation operating in a high temperature for a better steam capability, while keeping a lower temperature of the ironing plate which prevents damaging garments during ironing.

A steam iron () comprises a steam generator () having a main body portion () including an electrical heating element () to heat the steam generator (), and an ironing plate () coupled to the steam generator () via a thermal coupling and configured to be passively heated by conduction of heat from the steam generator () via the thermal coupling. The thermal coupling between the steam generator () and the ironing plate () comprises an indirect thermal path formed by a flange () of the steam generator (), the flange () being in contact with the ironing plate () and being spaced from the main body portion () of the steam generator (), the flange () also being configured to space the main body portion () of the steam generator () from the ironing plate () to restrict the conduction of heat from the main body portion () of the steam generator () to the ironing plate ().

The invention relates to domestics appliance system which makes use of a push-fit fluid coupling () comprising a fluid feeding portion () and a fluid receiving portion () adapted to cooperate with each other to enable fluid to flow in a downstream direction (D) from the fluid feeding portion () to the fluid receiving portion (). The fluid receiving portion () comprises an actuator () comprising a fluid conduit () for fluid to flow from the fluid feeding portion () to the fluid receiving portion (). The fluid feeding portion () comprises a housing () defining a fluid flow path () and comprising an opening () in which the actuator () is intended to be inserted, a chamber () arranged in the housing () in which fluid is intended to flow, a valve seat () and a valve member () engaging the valve seat () for closing the fluid flow path (), a first piston () slidably received in the chamber () downstream of the valve member (). The fluid feeding portion () and the fluid receiving portion () are adapted to cooperate with each other such that when the actuator () is inserted in the opening (), the actuator () and the opening () cooperate with each other to form a fluid seal preventing fluid in chamber () to leak out from the chamber (), then, when the actuator () is further inserted in the opening (), the actuator () is adapted to contact the first piston () and to displace the first piston () in an upstream direction (D) until the first piston () contacts the valve member () and lifts the valve member () off the valve seat () for opening the fluid flow path () and allowing fluid to flow in the downstream direction (D). This invention prevents leak of fluid between the fluid feeding portion () and the fluid receiving portion ().

Domestic appliance system with push-fit fluid coupling

The present application relates to a steam device comprising a steam generator (), at least one steam vent () through which steam is emitted from the steam device, a steam path () between the steam generator () and the at least one steam vent (). The steam path () has a base () along which scale is able to pass. The steam device also comprises a noise generator () configured to act on steam generated by the steam generator () to generate noise. The noise generator () is spaced from the base () of the steam path () so that scale is not obstructed by the noise generator ().
