An apparatus and method for storing and supplying a ribbon containing ink in a system used for printing information. A cartridge protects the tape during shipping and storage and enables easy replacement of a ribbon into a printer. The cartridge provides a volume for accumulation of used tape wound on a take-up reel. The cartridge contains elastomer strips to protect, guide, and apply tension to all the tape during operation and storage.

Supply cartridge and method for ribbon delivery system

A point of sale printer ink cartridge includes a mobius loop endless ribbon with at least two ply of woven twisted nylon fabric sealed along lengthwise edges with or without a third ink absorbing layer interposed between the two ply of nylon yielding synergistic ink capacity increases, long print life, long ribbon durability, and increased butt weld strength of the ends of the ribbon.

Multi-ply printer ribbon cartridge and method

A method of securing a transaction record from counterfeiting is disclosed. The method comprises providing an ink ribbon for a transaction record which is impregnated with an ink containing a fluorescent material and a vehicle which is highly absorptive. A transaction record paper is provided which is at least moderately porous so that the ink contacts both sides of the paper when applied only to one side of the paper. The transaction record is fluorescable under black light on both the front and rear of the transaction record.
