An imaging system includes components to allow the system to be compact, highly transportable, and capture images in non-conventional settings. An imaging device includes an exoskeleton configured to house and provide structural support for an x-ray source and a detector and a spindle structure protruding from an outer surface of the exoskeleton. The imaging device also includes an x-ray source and a detector affixed to an internal surface of the exoskeleton and a rotation motor configured to rotate the exoskeleton about the spindle structure.

Compact imaging device and system

A system for tracking an instrument during a procedure on a patient is provided. The system includes a rotatable gantry, an x-ray imaging device, a processor, and a memory coupled to the processor. The processor is configured to: generate a three dimensional (3D) image based on a plurality of initial x-ray projections taken at a plurality of projection angles; generate an annotated 3D image of the 3D image including annotations of the target location and at least one planned instrument path on the 3D image; generate a plurality of two dimensional (2D) annotations based on the annotated 3D image at each projection angle; superimpose each 2D annotation onto the initial x-ray projection of the corresponding projection angle; obtain a plurality of subsequent x-ray projections of the patient at the plurality of projection angles; and co-register each subsequent x-ray projection with a corresponding annotated initial x-ray projection for each projection angle.

Systems and methods for annotating x-rays

The subject matter includes a system and method for providing graphical feedback visualizing forces within a joint through a range of motion of the joint. The method can comprise receiving position data, receiving force data, and generating a graphical representation based on the position data and the force data. The receiving position data can include data for at least one bone of a joint while the at least one bone is moved through a range of motion (ROM). The receiving force data can occur concurrently to receiving the position data and using one or more processors, the force data can be collected from at least one force sensor embedded within a trial prosthesis in the joint. The graphical representation can illustrate changes in the force data versus locations of the bone as it moved through the ROM.

Sensor-based shoulder system and method

A computed tomography system is disclosed with a gantry assembly and a base assembly. The gantry assembly having a x-ray source, and a x-ray imager. The base assembly is configured to receive power and provide mechanical stability. A connection interface is located between the gantry assembly and the base assembly. The connection interface is configured to mechanically lock the gantry assembly to the base assembly and provide power to the gantry assembly through the base assembly.

Modular and configurable computed tomography scanning assembly

Methods and systems include a patient specific instrument for installing a glenosphere within a joint. For example, a method for implanting a glenosphere includes installing first and second pins in a glenoid cavity using a patient specific instrument that sets a distance between the guide pins, installing an implant at the location of the second guide pin, and guiding a glenosphere onto the implant using a helper connected to the first pin. In another example, a glenosphere helper includes a cup shaped body having an interior surface for engaging at least a portion of an outer surface of the glenosphere, and a flange extending from the cup to receive a guide pin at a point, the flange extending from the cup shaped body such that the point is positioned outside a periphery of the glenosphere.

A method and system for planning a creation of a cement bore in a bone comprises obtaining a virtual model of a bone, the model of the bone including a proximal bone surface, a distal bone surface, and a depth profile between the proximal bone surface and the distal bone surface. A planned positioning of a first implant selected to be implanted in the proximal bone surface is obtained. An identity of at least one tool used to alter the proximal bone surface to receive the first implant in the planned positioning and obtaining geometry data for the at least one tool is obtained. A cement bore required in the bone using the geometry data of the at least one tool and the planned positioning of the first implant is generated. The virtual model of the bone with the cement bore indicative of a relation between the cement bore and the distal bone surface is output.

Method and system for assisting implant placement in thin bones such as scapula

A motion tracker including a head band and laser devices that direct laser beams having non-concentric axes to a charge coupled device is used to determine movement of a patient during a CT scan. When the patient is motionless, the laser devices each direct a laser beam along a line, and the laser beams contact the charge coupled device at a contact location. If the patient moves, the laser devices, and therefore the contact locations, move. The charge coupled device detects the movement of the contact locations to determine the movement of the patient. A computer adjusts the x-ray image taken at the time of the movement to accommodate for this movement.

Motion tracker to detect and correct for movement of a patient in a CT scanner

A head holder made of radiolucent material is attached near an end of a table to support a head of a patient during a CT scan. The head holder includes a base portion that supports the shoulders and upper back of the patient and a head rest that supports a patient's head. The head holder is moveable relative to the table in a direction that is generally parallel to a length of the table. A position of the head rest is adjustable in a vertical direction relative to the base portion. The radiolucent material of the head holder does not affect the quality of a resulting CT scan.
