Battery contact with surface texturing. Exemplary battery contacts are located within a battery pack. The battery pack is operable to provide power to a device through a device contact of the device. The battery pack includes a battery pack housing, at least one battery cell located within the battery pack housing, and battery contacts including a positive terminal and a negative terminal. The battery contacts are configured to engage the device contact of the device and allow electric current to transfer from the battery pack to the device. The battery contacts define a surface having a surface texture. The surface texture includes raised portions for contacting the device contact to allow electric current to transfer from the battery pack to the device. The surface texture also includes recessed regions spaced away from the surface and for providing a space between the battery contacts and the device contact.

An energy-efficient and compact battery charger. The battery charger includes, among other things, a charging port, a power supply module, a battery charger control module or controller, a power control safety module, a battery charger switch, and an indicator. The controller, the power control safety module, and the battery charger switch work in conjunction with each other to control the operation of the battery charger. The controller is configured to execute a charging control process which detects the insertion of a battery pack into the charging port, controls the charging of the battery pack, and controls the illumination or display of the indicator. The power control safety module includes a power control safety circuit that is configured to prevent the charging current and/or the charging voltage from damaging the battery charger or battery pack during a malfunction.

A battery pack including a support frame. The support frame includes a plurality of recesses for receiving a plurality of battery cells, a first vent, a second vent, a first peripheral support section, a second peripheral support section, and an air passage. The first vent is located on a first distal end of the support frame, the second vent is located on a second distal end of the support frame, and the air passage is located between the first vent and the second vent. The first and second peripheral support sections space apart and securely hold the plurality of battery cells within the battery pack.
