A fence assembly configured to guide a workpiece with respect to a blade of a saw device includes a fence that is supported by rails for sliding movement relative to a work surface. Opposed ends of the fence are supported on the rails via rail engagement members. The fence assembly includes a fence angle adjustment mechanism associated with a housing of one of the rail engagement members. The fence angle adjustment mechanism includes biasing elements working in conjunction with an adjustment screw to adjust the position of the fence with respect to parallelism to the blade.

A fence assembly of a saw device includes a fence, a slide mechanism coupled to one end of the fence, and a tensioning mechanism coupled to the other end of the fence. The fence assembly includes a handle that is supported on the slide mechanism via a cam. The handle is rotatable relative to the cam between a first position in which the fence assembly is fixed relative to the rails, and a second position in which the fence assembly is movable relative to the rails. The fence assembly includes a tension member that is coupled at one end to the handle and at the other end to the tensioning mechanism. The cam is rotatable relative to the slide mechanism about a cam rotational axis, and rotation of the cam relative to the cam rotational axis provides an adjustment of a tension force applied by the tension member.

A table saw includes a table work surface, main rails supported on opposed sides of the table work surface, and a fence mounted on the main rails so as to be slidable relative to table work surface. The table saw also includes an extension assembly having extension rails that support an extension work surface and connector assemblies that couple the extension rails to the main rails. The main rails together with the extension rails provide a continuous fence contact surface that extends along the entire length of the table top and the extension assembly. The connector assemblies each include a hook that engages with a latch plate, and the hook is assembled with the latch plate via a pivoting action.

A table saw includes a working surface and a rail system. The rail system includes stationary rails mounted along the working surface, and extension rails. The rails each include matching guide surfaces extending along the longitudinal axis and configured to support and guide a rip fence. The rails have a common connection interface that in each case includes a connecting end and a supporting end, such that the extension rails are mountable with the stationary rails. When mounted, the guide surfaces of the extension rails extend the guide surfaces of the stationary rails. The connecting end in the common connection interface includes a connection mechanism configured to urge the connecting end together with the supporting end to form an internal connection, and to align the guide surfaces of the connected rails to as to be co-planar with each other.

Extendable rails for table saw

A guide assembly for a saw device includes a pre-load mechanism located at one end and a slide mechanism located at the other end. The slide mechanism establishes two fixed contact points between the guide assembly and a guide rail of the saw device. The pre-load mechanism establishes a third contact point between the guide assembly and another guide rail of the saw device. The guide assembly has an unlocked condition in which the pre-load mechanism continuously generates a first clamping force on the saw device between the third contact point and the two fixed contact points. The first clamping force self-aligns the guide assembly to the saw device and permits slidable adjustment of the guide assembly on the saw device. The guide assembly has a locked condition in which a second clamping force is generated between the contact points and the guide assembly is fixed on the saw device.

Non-binding fence for a table saw

A table saw includes at least one stop mechanism for setting or recording a position of a guide assembly on the table saw. The stop mechanism has a base member and a blocking member connected to the base member. The base member is connected to a guide structure on the table saw in an unlocked state and a locked state. In the unlocked state, the base member is infinitely adjustable relative to the guide structure along a slide axis. In the locked state, the base member is fixed relative to the guide structure. The blocking member is moveable relative to the base member between a blocking position and a bypass position. The blocking member in the blocking position is configured to contact the guide assembly and set or record a position of the guide assembly. The blocking member in the bypass position cannot contact the guide assembly.

Stop mechanism for a table saw and method of using the same

A band saw includes a first blade guide assembly and a second blade guide assembly which guide the band saw blade through a cutting zone. The first blade guide assembly and the second blade guide assembly are each supported for pivotal movement about a pivot axis between a first angular position and a second angular position. At the first angular position, the first and the second blade guide assemblies hold the band saw blade at a first angle with respect to the wheel contact plane. At the second angular position, the first and the second blade guide assemblies hold the band saw blade at a second angle with respect to the wheel contact plane, the second angle being different than the first angle.
