A device () for the expression of liquids, such as for the maintenance treatment of vascular catheters. A syringe () has a support structure () and includes at least two separate compartments () in which liquids for treating the lumen (L,) of a catheter (C,) with which the device is associated. The syringe further includes a closure plug () to be associated with the lumen being treated, which is coupled, by virtue of a releasable securement arrangement, to support structure (). At least one plunger () is also included for infusing, in preset order, the different treatment liquids into the lumen to be treated, and the syringe further includes a duct () which is in fluid communication with the two compartments and is arranged through a through hole through the closure plug () in order to allow access of the treatment liquid to the interior of the lumen (L,) upon activation of the plunger.

Syringe for sequential expression of different liquids

A luer cleaner () including a generally hollow body () having an open first end (), a closed second end (), and a longitudinal axis extending therethrough between the first end and the second end. The first end () is sized to receive therein a luer connector () proximal end and includes a plurality of bristles () extending generally toward the longitudinal axis sufficiently to engage the outer surfaces of the luer proximal end disposed therein. The second end comprises a compressible reservoir () containing a fluid (), wherein, when the second end is compressed, the fluid is transmitted from the reservoir toward the first end through passageways to wet the luer proximal end. A method for cleaning luer connectors is also disclosed.

Luer cleaner

An implantable venous access port for a catheter. The port assembly () includes a body (), a septum () for needle insertion, a discharge port () having a passageway () and to which a catheter proximal end () is connected, and a proximal port () with a proximal passageway () that is in line with the discharge port passageway (). A chamber () of the port body () fluidly connects the proximal port passageway and the discharge port passageway, and a proximal septum () traverses and seals the proximal passageway (). An entry cannula () is insertable into the proximal opening and penetrates the proximal septum () and extends to the discharge port passageway () enabling a guide wire () to be inserted therethrough after the port () has been connected to the catheter (), whereafter the entire assembly is implantable into a patient over the guide wire. A method of over-the-wire venous port placement is disclosed, and also a method for assembling the port.

Venous access port assembly and methods of assembly and use

A clip () for releasably retaining a conduit () including a first base portion (), a second base portion (), and a hinge () connecting the first base portion to the second base portion. A generally arcuate first connector portion () has a first connected end () extending from the first base portion and a first free end (). The first free end includes a first tabbed extension () and a first locking portion () adjacent to the first tabbed extension. A generally arcuate second connector portion () has a second connected end () extending from the second base portion and a second free end (). The second free end includes a second tabbed extension () and a second locking portion () adjacent to the second tabbed extension. The first connector portion () and the second connector portion () are juxtaposed from each other across the hinge(). The first tabbed extension () is releasably engageable with the second locking portion () and the second tabbed extension () is releasably engageable with the first locking portion ().
