A refrigerator door handle including handle extension bases on opposite sides thereof for securement to a refrigerator door for receiving associated handle extensions of the refrigerator door handle, each handle extension base having a longitudinally extending body member with one end of the body member being closed by two arms extending inwardly towards each other, where each arm has a tab provided on an inner side thereof. An edge portion of the body member at the one end thereof is bent upwardly to a raised position so that the raised edge portion provides a recess thereunder for receiving the tabs therein. The free ends of the arms are secured together, and also the tabs are secured to an under surface of the raised edge portion in order to close the one end of the body member. In a modified embodiment, a transverse slit is provided through the raised edge portion of the body member to facilitate the upward bending of the raised edge portion.

Handle extension base for securement to a refrigerator door

A shelf assembly for refrigerators, freezers and the like including a glass shelf, an extruded edge trim wrapped around and enclosing the peripheral edges of the shelf, and a shelf supporting unit including a pair of side brackets connected together by spaced apart front and rear bars, the edge trim having a U-shaped construction for receiving the peripheral edges of the shelf therein, so that the edge trim provides a rectangular frame arrangement around the shelf to form a raised dam barrier adjacent the peripheral edges of the shelf to prevent any spilled liquid from running off an upper surface of the shelf, thus making the shelf spillproof. Cut-out securement openings are provided in the shelf edge trim to receive the front and rear bars therein, one of the bars being hooked in one pair of cut-outs, and the other one of the bars being snapped into the other pair of cut-outs. In one modified embodiment, a sealing fin of soft, resilient, flexible and deformable material is provided longitudinally along an upper free end of the U-shaped edge trim to provide a tight seal between the edge trim and the shelf.

Spillproof shelf assembly for refrigerators, freezers and the like

A refrigerator door handle including a pull handle and an integral one piece extruded plastic handle cover having handle extensions on opposite ends thereof, the handle extensions having legs thereon for securement to the refrigerator door. In another embodiment, the pull handle is provided with extension bases positioned at opposite ends thereof to receive the handle extensions of the handle cover in a snap-in engagement. In a further embodiment, the pull handle and handle extensions on opposite ends thereof are fabricated from an integral one piece extruded plastic profile. It is noted, that the pull handle extensions or bases can be provided with legs for securement to the refrigerator door.

Refrigerator door handle

An extruded molding trim for vehicles, appliances and the like, which has a one piece integral construction including a longitudinally extending strip-like upper portion and longitudinally spaced apart leg portions extending perpendicularly downwardly therefrom either in a single or a double row, the portions having outwardly extending tabs disposed on opposite sides or on only one side thereof for attachment to a part of a vehicle, appliance and the like, the molding trim being formed from an extruded plastic strip. The upper portion and the leg portions are fabricated from either a rigid or a resilient flexible plastic material, with the tabs being fabricated from either a rigid or a resilient deformable or flexible plastic material. The tabs are pointed or elongated fingers, directed upwardly towards the upper portion, or each of the tabs can include adjacent outwardly and inwardly inclined outer surfaces to provide a point extending transversely outwardly from each leg portion, where each leg portion may include numerous tabs, aligned pairs of associated tabs, or staggered tabs. The upper portion can encapsulate a metallic strip therein, can be provided with longitudinally extending parallel grooves in an upper surface thereof, or can be provided with at least one downwardly extending longitudinal side flange preferably having a metallic strip disposed around the side flange, and a protective transparent plastic strip disposed over the metallic strip.

Extruded molding trim for vehicles, appliances and the like

An endless edge trim, which can be snapped onto and secured to a peripheral edge of an article, being fabricated from a longitudinally extending extruded profile having a uniform cross section, with opposite ends of the profile being secured together, preferably by a sonic welded gusset. The endless edge trim includes a longitudinally extending body member having a predetermined length, the body member having a vertical body portion, a top flange portion, and a bottom flange portion. The top and bottom flange portions are spaced apart a predetermined distance to provide a tension therebetween for locking the endless edge trim on the peripheral edge of the article. The endless edge trim has a hoop, ring or oval configuration, where notches can be formed therein to provide for a rectangular frame shaped configuration. In a modified form, the lower part of the body portion provides a seat for positioning the endless edge trim on the article prior to the snap-on engagement of the endless edge trim onto the peripheral edge of the article.

Forming extruded molding trim for vehicles and appliances

A shelf edge trim having a one piece integral construction to provide a U-shaped body portion for removably receiving and supporting a shelf of a refrigerator, freezer, a piece of furniture and the like, the edge trim being formed from an extruded plastic strip, where the edge trim can have a decorative front lip portion for a front edge of the shelf, or a rearwardly and upwardly extending flange portion for a rear edge of the shelf to provide a rear stop for the shelf. A bin sealing portion can be provided on the edge trim for sealing a space between the shelf and a slide-out storage drawer depending therefrom. In one embodiment, the lower leg portion of the U-shaped body portion is provided with an inwardly directed rib for engaging an underside of the shelf. In another embodiment, the edge trim is provided with a bar gripping portion for receiving a support bar of the shelf frame. Preferably, the lower leg portion of the U-shaped body portion is provided with a cam portion to guide the edge portion of the shelf into the U-shaped body portion for positioning between the upper and lower leg portions thereof. The edge trim can be used in the construction of a table, where the shelf is the table top, and the front and rear edge trims have an identical construction, being disposed on the front and rear support bars of the table.
