Various intramedullary implants, instruments, and methods are disclosed herein. In an example, a compression instrument is used to provide internal compression of bones adjoining a joint or bones spanning a fracture to cause compression of the joint or fracture.

Joint compression instrumentation and methods

Various modular implants and modular implant systems are disclosed herein, as are methods of implanting the same. The modular implant systems can include modular implants that are stacked on each other to define a modular implant system, which in an example can be used to replace or augment a void in bone. The modular implants can interact with an intramedullary implant to, for instance, assist with a fusion procedure.

Implants for bridging osseous defects

A system including an intramedullary nail and an insert dimensioned to be positioned within the intramedullary nail. The insert can include a rotating component configured to rotate about a rotational axis transverse to a longitudinal axis of the intramedullary nail. The insert can be configured to receive a bone screw, rotate about the rotational axis as the bone screw is positioned at a selected angle of a plurality of angles relative to the intramedullary nail, and lock the bone screw at the selected angle.

An external fixation system for adjusting a load occurring at a joint connecting a first bone to a second bone. The external fixation system includes a first bone clamp to connect to the first bone, a second bone clamp to connect to the second bone, and a pivot assembly to operatively connect the first bone clamp and to the second bone clamp. The pivot assembly includes a first pivot body pivotably coupled to a second pivot body at a pivot axis, wherein one of the first pivot body and the second pivot body includes an adjustment mechanism configured to adjust the position of one of the first pivot body and the second pivot body with respect to the other of the first pivot body and the second pivot body at other than the pivot axis.
