The present disclosure is drawn to an ink supply tank for a printer. The ink supply tank includes a main chamber to supply a printer with ink. The main chamber includes a fill port to receive ink during filling and an exchange port to release the ink. A chamber separator device is configured with a fill surface and a vent port. An overflow chamber can be configured with a vent to pass air into the overflow chamber, a first portion of air in the overflow chamber passes through the vent port of the chamber separator device to a feeder chamber to replace a second portion of ink leaving the ink supply tank to feed a print head and the vent port of the chamber separator device to pass a third portion of ink and a second portion of air from the feeder chamber to the overflow chamber.

Ink supply tanks

Some examples include a valve for a printing fluid supply system, the valve including a static portion and a dynamic portion. The static portion includes a stem extending along a longitudinal axis. The stem includes a head, a tail, and a shaft extending between the head and the tail. The dynamic portion is disposed around the stem. The dynamic portion is longitudinally movable along the stem between a closed position and an opened position. The dynamic portion includes a neck and a body extending longitudinally from the neck, the neck to seal around the head in the closed position and fluidly open in the opened position, the body to slidably fluidly seal against a housing between opened and closed positions. A liquid ink pathway and an air pathway are formed between the static portion and the dynamic portion.

Fluid supply valve

An example fluid handling system for a printer is disclosed. In an implementation, the fluid handling system includes a first compartment, a second compartment, and a fluid port. The first compartment is fluidly coupled to the second compartment through the fluid port and the first compartment, second compartment and fluid port are disposable within a printer. In addition, the fluid handling system includes a barrier disposed within the fluid port. The barrier separates the fluid port into a first channel and a second channel, wherein the barrier is movable within the fluid port.

An example of an apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a feeder tank to provide print fluid to a nozzle. The feeder tank is disposed below the nozzle to maintain a backpressure. The apparatus also includes a vent port to vent the feeder tank to atmosphere. The apparatus further includes an overflow chamber in fluidic communication with the feeder tank. The overflow chamber is disposed below the nozzle. In addition, the apparatus includes a return channel disposed on the overflow chamber to allow print fluid in the overflow chamber to return to the feeder tank.

An ink tank includes a cap assembly attached to the ink tank by a preloaded hinge that defines a rotational axis of the cap assembly when the cap assembly is opened and closed. The preloaded hinge biases the cap assembly to an opened position when the cap assembly is unlatched. The cap assembly includes a cap housing, a bung retained within the cap housing, a spring disposed between the cap housing and the bung, a latch to hold the cap assembly in a closed position, where in the closed position the spring applies a force to provide a seal between the bung and the ink tank. The cap assembly also includes an effector that is operative when the cap assembly is unlatched, to sequence a closing of an internal valve of the ink tank and a breaking of the seal between the bung and the ink tank thereafter.

An example system includes an ink tank including a feeder tank, wherein the feeder tank is to hold a fluid therein, the feeder tank having a port, the feeder tank being under a negative gauge pressure. The example system further includes a print cartridge in fluid communication with the port of the feeder tank, the print cartridge having a nozzle plate. The port of the feeder tank is positioned to a lower corner of the feeder tank distally to the print cartridge, wherein the nozzle plate is disposed above a predetermined level within the feeder tank when the system is not tilted, the predetermined level corresponding to a free surface of a predetermined volume of the fluid when the system is not tilted. When the system is tilted to position the nozzle plate below the port, the volume of fluid uncovers the port.

An example ink tank includes a cap with a preloaded hinge that biases the cap to a fully opened position when the cap is unlatched. The cap in the fully opened position interferes with and prevents the closure of a door that provides access to the ink tank. The door includes a sensor that locks out the print function when the door is open, effecting a printer lockout when the cap of the ink tank is opened for filling.

A printing subassembly is disclosed. The printing subassembly includes a printbar. A frame is coupled to the printbar such that the printbar dos not move with respect to the frame. A fluid supply system is coupled to the printbar.

A collapsible pistol features enhanced safety, ease of use, and improved performance as compared to prior designs. The pistol is easily reconfigured from an open, ready-to-fire position to a closed or collapsed position that makes the pistol quite compact, safe, and readily concealable. The overall design of the pistol is such that the manipulation of the pistol into and out of the open, ready-to-fire position can be accomplished with a user having relatively small hands and/or relatively low grip strength.

Liquid supply or reservoir therefore having multiple compartments, each compartment to hold a distinct liquid, comprising multiple liquid outlets, each fluidically connected to one of the compartments, multiple clearance cut outs disposed at a pitch equal to a pitch of the compartments to accommodate protrusions of a dispenser, and at least one latch protruding outwards from a supply wall.

In one example, a structure for supporting a printhead includes: a substrate having a first side and a second side; an inlet tower through which liquid may be introduced into the structure; an opening through the substrate near the inlet tower; and an air channel along the substrate connecting the opening in the substrate to the atmosphere.
