A system for strain relieving intravenous (IV) assembly includes a dressing and an anchor portion for use with the dressing. In various embodiments, the dressing may cover an injection site into a portion of a patient's body for an intravenous (IV) assembly that provides fluid communication between the injection site and a fluid reservoir remote from the injection site through a flexible tube. In an illustrative example, the anchor portion may include a first member and a second member. The first member may be secured, for example, to the dressing and may, in some examples, wrap around the tubing so as to resist axial movement of the tubing relative to the dressing. The second member may be secured to the dressing and may wrap around the tubing and a portion of the patient's body so as to resist radial movement of the tubing relative to the body.

Unitary strain-relieving intravenous (IV) anchor system

Apparatus and associated methods for a hydrogel wound covering membrane may include a backing layer and a release liner each having high pliability for permitting the membrane to be folded without pinching a sandwiched hydrogel layer thereby preventing its thinning in folded regions. In an illustrative embodiment, the hydrogel layer may annularly circumscribe a central wound region of the membrane. The thickness of the annulus may be selected to prevent water from penetrating the annulus for water exposures of a predetermined length of time. In some embodiments, a gauze may be affixed to a central portion of the membrane for gentle contact with a wound when the membrane is affixed to a wounded person. The membrane may advantageously maintain a substantially uniform hydrogel thickness when folded or rolled, so as to permit secure annular adhesion circumscribing a wound when unfolded or unrolled and applied.

Apparatus and associated methods for a wound valve assembly provide an annular space extending radially around a central portion of a valve, which valve acts to substantially relieve pressure build up in a thoracic cavity when applied to a thoracic wound. In an illustrative example, the valve assembly may form an annular space that extends radially in all directions around a check valve. In some examples, gasses and exudates may flow substantially radially and/or parallel to the patient's local body. Various embodiments may advantageously provide open fluid communication for the gasses and exudates escaping from the wound when the valve assembly is partially covered (e.g., body armor, clothing, blankets), or when the patient may be lying down on the side of the body with the wound, for example.
