A corrosion resistant insecticidal composition for use in aerosol containers includes an organophosphorous pesticide, an emulsifier, an aerosol propellant, an aqueous carrier and as a corrosion inhibiting system, an organic corrosion inhibitor and an inorganic corrosion inhibitor.

Corrosion resistant insecticial composition

Test, auxiliary and reference electrodes are immersed in a corrodant fluid. The test electrode is cathodically polarized by a cathodic polarization circuit. Peak current flow in the auxiliary electrode is measured and a linear cathodic polarization function is generated by a computer circuit. The test electrode is forwardly and reversely anodically polarized by an anodic polarization circuit. A comparator circuit senses the voltage of the test electrode with respect to the auxiliary electrode during reverse anodic polarization and compares this value to the cathodic polarization function. When the test electrode voltage and cathodic polarization function are equal, an anodic memory circuit stores the value of the current passing through the test electrode. This current is the pitting current which is converted into pitting rate.

Pitting corrosion meter

This invention relates to a process of inhibiting pitting corrosion which is characterized by the use of synergistic mixtures of organic anodic and cathodic corrosion inhibitors. These synergistic mixtures effectively inhibit pitting corrosion in highly oxygenated systems without the conventional use of heavy metals such as zinc (Zn) or chromium (Cr). This invention also relates to the use of alkoxysilyl alkylene polyamines as pitting corrosion inhibitors.

Inhibition of pitting corrosion

This invention relates to the use of hydrocarbon polymers or copolymers in conjunction with demulsifiers in demulsification. The use of said hydrocarbon polymers-demulsifier combination is more effective in demulsification than is achieved by the use of the demulsifier alone. The process is particularly effective in desalting oils.
