A document is divided into sections based on a characteristic of the text in the document. Characteristics may include specific characters such as paragraph breaks or selected punctuation, the topics or categories of the text, or a quantity of text in each section. Each section of the document may be represented by an embedding vector in a semantic embedding space. Values are determined based on the text in each section and the semantic characteristics of each section, such as word order, capitalization, punctuation, and word meaning. When a query is received, a vector value representing the query is determined based on the text and semantic characteristics of the query. Based on the similarity between the values determined for the query and those determined for the sections of a document, the specific section of a potentially large document that most closely matches the query is determined and included in a response.

System for determining document portions that correspond to queries

A separating device with integrated storage securing an electrical charging device and providing wire management for portable computers, such as notebook computers or laptop computers, in a cart, pedestal, desk-mounted depot, or similar devices is shown herein. Briefly stated, in its preferred embodiment, the separating device comprises a sheet of rigid material with a thin thickness cut in a roughly trapezoidal profile, a plurality of holes, a plurality of tabs, and a plurality of slots. The separating device is designed to accept a portable computing device and its charging device. Wires running from the charging device to the portable computing device are fed through the separating device for wire management. Wires running from the charging device to a power plug are wrapped around the separating device for further wire management. Also, the separating device may be attached to a device capable of accepting the separating device.

A mount for supporting a silicon v-groove array that contains delicate opal fibers. Optical fibers are arranged in a planar silicon v-groove array to form a focal plane array, which is connected to a first L-bracket. The focal plane array and the first L-bracket combination are attached to a second L-bracket via a shock/vibration isolation pad. The second L-bracket includes an extended cylinder which is threaded so that a strain relief can be screwed directly into the second L-bracket and the fibers extending out the first L-bracket can be fed through the second L-bracket and directly into a monocoil. The second L-bracket also includes space to attach front, side and top covers over the focal plane array. In a related method, the silicon v-groove array is epoxied to the first L-bracket. After preparation of the focal plane array, e.g. polishing of the fibers, is completed, the focal plane array/first bracket combination is connected to the second L-bracket, with the pad therebetween. The covers are then attached to the L-bracket.
