The present invention is a process for the scission and oxidation of ozonide materials. The process comprises introducing an oxygen-containing gas stream into an agitated liquid body in the form of fine bubbles.

Coal-water slurries containing a rheological additive are provided. Rheological additives employed for preparation of the coal-water slurries are ester-amide products obtained by reaction of a polycarboxylic acid with a polyether glycol and aliphatic amine. Salts of the ester-amides may also be advantageously employed as dispersants. The ester-amide additives are employed in an amount from about 0.1 to about 4 percent by weight of the slurry. Stable aqueous slurries containing from 60 to 80 percent by weight coal solids are produced.

Coal-water slurries containing a rheological additive are provided. Rheological additives employed for preparation of the coal-water slurries are amide products obtained by reaction of a polycarboxylic acid with a polyether diamine and, optionally, other amines or hydroxylic compounds. Salts of the amides may also be advantageously employed as dispersants. The additives are employed in an amount from about 0.1 to about 4 percent by weight to provide stable aqueous slurries containing from 60 to 80 percent by weight coal solids.

Amides of polycarboxylic acids as rheological additives for coal-water

The invention relates to cementitious compositions having improved fluidity and dispersability and to a method for producing same. For the present invention an ester derived from a polyoxyethylene glycol and a polycarboxylic acid, e.g. polymeric fatty acids or polycarboxylic adduct acids, is included with the cement, aggregate, water and any other additives which may be present. The esters can be partial esters or the polycarboxylic acids may be fully esterified with the polyoxyethylene glycol.

Aqueous compositions suitable for the treatment of alfalfa are provided herein. The aqueous compositions contain a hydrocarbon, a lower alkyl ester of a fatty acid and/or alkali metal carbonate. A process for applying said aqueous compositions to the alfalfa at the time of cutting to reduce drying time is also provided.

Coal-water slurries containing a rheological additive are disclosed. The rheological additives employed for the preparation of the present coal-water slurries are ester products obtained from the reaction of a polycarboxylic organic acid with two or more hydroxylic compounds. The rheological additive is employed in an amount from about 0.1 to about 4 percent by weight of the slurry, the slurry having from about 60 to about 80 percent by weight solids, the balance being water.
