A computer-implemented method includes: receiving, by a computing device, information identifying the presence of a crowdsourcing event; receiving, by a computing device, indirect crowdsourcing data including user device activity from a plurality of user devices within a geofence associated with the crowdsourcing event; generating, by the computing device, indirect crowdsourcing data records based on the indirect crowdsourcing data; receiving, by the computing device, a query relating to the crowdsourcing event; generating, by the computing device, a query response in response to the query based on the indirect crowdsourcing data records; and providing by the computing device, the query response.

Indirect crowdsourcing by associating data from multiple data sources

An embodiment of the invention provides a method for monitoring for and detecting a leak in a line where a mobile detector having an audio sensor and an odor sensor transiting along the line. A sample audio reading is obtained by the audio sensor; and, a sample odor reading is obtained by the odor sensor. A processor compares the sample audio reading to a baseline audio reading to determine whether the line is leaking. The processor compares the sample odor reading to a baseline odor reading to determine whether the line is leaking. The location of the mobile detector is identified by a GPS device on the mobile detector when the processor determines that the line is leaking. The location of the mobile detector, the sample audio reading, and the sample odor reading is sent to a central monitoring center by a communications device on the mobile detector.

A system and method for allowing flexible and simultaneous updates to database objects from one or more users is disclosed. The system may receive a change request to the object from the first user and then from a second user. The system may determine if the object is locked and, if so, informing the first user. If an edit request is received from the second user, the second user may be provided with multiple options, such as incorporating changes made by first user and overwriting changes made by second user with changes made by first user, incorporating changes made by first user and overwriting changes made by first user with changes made by second user, and cancelling changes made by second user.

An embodiment of the invention provides a method for recording, managing and tracking changes to objects in a computer system. A master record is created for the computer system; and, a transactional record is created for an object in the computer system. The master record includes the current status of the object and the current status for all objects associated to the object. The transactional record is updated in the electronic database; and, the master record is updated when the transactional record is updated. The master record is linked to all of the transactional records of the objects associated to the object with the processor. The master record is updated with the processor when a transactional record of the objects associated to the object is updated or added.

A system for providing a fee associated with a location for an ordered object. In response to receiving an order for an object from a customer that includes a location for where to ship the object, it is determined whether the location requires a fee for the object. The fee for the object for the location is requested from a fee service in response to determining that the location does require the fee for the object. The fee for the object for the location is received from the fee service. The fee for the object for the location is added to a customer price and a first customer response. Then, the first customer response that includes the fee for the object for the location is sent to the customer.

A computer implemented method and program product for order processing. In one embodiment, input is received from a user for an order. The input supplies information for configuring an order in an order processing software application, for producing a first configuration of the order. The input is analyzed to identify corrections for the first configuration to fit parameters of the order processing software application. The input is compared to a set of existing orders as part of an analysis of the input. A set of recommendations is generated concerning analysis of the input. In response to a selection by the user, the set of recommendations is executed in order to correct the first configuration of the order.

In response to the receipt of the indication, a financial value of the inventory item is determined and an indication is provided that the financial value was transferred from the first physical storage location to the second physical storage location, wherein the financial value of the inventory item is tracked as the inventory item is physically moved within the plant.

The method includes sending by a contemporary fulfillment application to a legacy application a scheduling request for an order that includes a code recommending that the order is deemed eligible for fulfillment by a specific manufacturing site. The method further includes returning by the legacy application a scheduling response providing scheduling information for the order and confirming that the order is to be fulfilled by the specific manufacturing site. The method further includes transmitting a shipment request by the contemporary fulfillment application to a contemporary production application for routing delivery of the order to the specific manufacturing site and receiving a shipment response from the contemporary production application providing a delivery status of the order.

Method, system and program product for managing fulfillment of orders

A process and methodology are disclosed to maintain consistency across disparate systems. An interface is provided comprised of a fulfillment client in which to place orders, a middleware to pass data, manufacturing and shipment systems to process orders, and a shipping and packing information repository system to house data. The methodology implements, inter alia, remote function calls to the asynchronously/synchronously interfaced systems during defined points of order processing to establish the status of the systems availability and the status of the order at the exact time of a predetermined activity. Also, information regarding the order status is posted as both a displayed on-line message to a user and in distinct status fields for future review. Furthermore, this method dynamically reacts to failed communication through the resetting of orders to a previous state to ensure data integrity across the distributed computing environment.

A method of optimizing communication and processing functions between disparate applications includes sending, from a first application to a disparate second application, a request message. The request message, which has a reduced data size for optimizing communication, is formatted in a first request-format to provide unique data elements relevant to processing the request message. The received request message is reformatted into a second request format, and is then forwarded to a third application. The third application creates a response message that is in a first response format, and sends the response message to the second application. Each received response message is queued, by a messaging application, into a response message collection corresponding to a message type, before sending the response group to the first application.

Method, system and program product for optimizing communication and processing functions between disparate applications

A method for translating a stock keeping unit (SKU) hierarchy in a customer order to a type-model-feature (TMF) structure in a vendor's order fulfillment system. A translation table relating the SKU hierarchy and TMF structure is defined. The SKU hierarchy includes SKU numbers that identify a configurable part and configurable options that specify a product. An initial order for the product includes the SKU hierarchy. Using the translation table, the SKU numbers are translated into an instance of the TMF structure. A multi-value characteristic is populated with values that include the SKU numbers and subline identifiers. A second order for the product is created that includes the instance of the TMF structure and subline values associated with the SKU number that identifies the configurable part.
