An implantable, modular spine stabilization system that allows for multi-level treatment of the spine by providing either rigid fixation or dynamic stabilization at different levels to be treated is provided. This modular spine stabilization system may be configured to span multiple spine levels, and have a curvature that closely matches the curvature of the spine over those multiple levels to be treated. Further, the modular spine stabilization system allows adjustment of the curvature of the overall system such that the system may be adapted for a patient for a customized fit. Instruments are also provided for the assembly and/or implantation of the modular spine stabilization system. The associated instruments may include instruments for adjusting the curvature of the system to the patient, and for implanting the curved system into the patient. The instruments may be configured for implantation of the system in a minimally invasive surgery.

Modular spine stabilization system and associated instruments

A prosthesis for a vertebral column has an upper part () for attachment to an upper vertebrae, a lower part () for attachment to a lower vertebrae and a middle part () located between the upper and the lower parts, wherein the upper part has a lower surface portion with a first radius of curvature, the middle part has an upper surface portion with a second radius of curvature and a lower surface with a third radius of curvature and the lower part has an upper surface with a fourth radius of curvature. Vertebral disc prosthesis

A spinal construct includes a first member including a surface that defines a first cavity and a second cavity. The first member is configured to engage a first vertebral surface. A second member includes a surface that defines a first cavity and a second cavity. The second member is configured to engage a second vertebral surface. The members are spaced and the first cavities are disposed in substantial alignment such that at least one first rod is disposed in the first cavities and the second cavities are disposed in substantial alignment such that a plurality of second rods are disposed in the second cavities and spaced via at least one spacer disposed between the second rods within at least one of the second cavities. Systems and methods are disclosed.

An interbody spacer includes an elongated body with a maximum width between opposite side walls and a maximum height between upper and lower bearing surfaces. The interbody spacer also includes a leading end nose connecting the side walls to facilitate insertion of the interbody spacer into a disc space between vertebrae in an insertion orientation, from which the interbody device is then rotated to position the upper and lower bearing surfaces in contact with the endplates of the adjacent vertebrae. The leading end nose forms a blunt convex nose between the upper and lower bearing surfaces to maximize the bearing surface area available to contact the adjacent endplates.

Vertebral interbody spacer

An apparatus and method for supporting upper and lower vertebral bodies, including first and second end members adapted for engagement with the vertebral bodies, and at least one elongate support member coupled between the end members to maintain an axial space between the vertebral bodies. In one aspect of the invention, each of the end members has a parametrical or horseshoe-shaped configuration extending about an open inner region and defining a lateral passage communicating with the open inner region to facilitate insertion of the apparatus or the individual end members into the intervertebral space via a posterior surgical approach. In a further aspect of the invention, a fusion member is positioned within the axial space to promote bony fusion between the upper and lower vertebral bodies.

Apparatus and method for supporting vertebral bodies

An interbody spacer includes concave lateral surfaces extending at an angle with respect to the longitudinal axis. In one aspect, the interbody spacer includes upper and lower convex surfaces defined by an arc extending from a center point offset from the spacer midpoint. In another aspect, lateral edges of the upper and lower surfaces are also defined by convex arcs extending from a center point offset from the spacer midpoint.

Interbody fusion device

Systems and methods for vertebral stabilization are provided. In one embodiment, a system includes a bone anchor with a threaded portion positioned opposite a post portion. A connector is provided including a pair of oppositely positioned branches defining a receptacle structured to receive the post portion. The receptacle is positionable between an open configuration and a closed configuration, wherein the connector is positionable along and about the post portion in the open configuration. The system also includes an elongate support member defining a passage structured to receive and engage a portion of the connector. As the connector is received in the passage, the branches of the connector move toward one another and force the receptacle toward the closed configuration wherein the connector is fixed relative to the post portion. Other systems, apparatuses and methods for vertebral stabilization are also disclosed.

Systems and methods for vertebral stabilization

Illustrative embodiments disclosed herein are directed to vertebral implants and methods of use. In one embodiment, the implant includes first and second end members with an intermediate cage. The cage may be inflatable such that the implant is positionable between a collapsed state with a first reduced height to facilitate insertion between the first and second vertebral members, and an extended state with a second height greater than the first height that positions the first end member against the first vertebral member and the second end member against the second vertebral member to maintain an intervertebral axial space.

Expandable vertebral implants and methods of use

A motion-preserving implant device for insertion between two bones is disclosed. The motion-preserving implant includes a first plate for engaging with a first bone and a second plate for engaging with a second bone. An articulation member is positioned between the two plates and a motion-controlling member attached to one or both of the plates. In some embodiments, the motion-controlling member is configured to constrain, dampen, and/or bumper the relative motion between the two plates.
