A system unloads material, such as bulk quantities of dry product, from a container, such as a railroad hopper car, in a fast and efficient manner. The container defines an interior adapted to contain a product and includes a product discharge section adapted to allow the product to pass therethrough. The material unloading system includes a product outlet line adapted to communicate with the product discharge section. The product outlet line includes a product outlet adapted to allow the product to pass therethrough. A source of pressurized fluid communicates with the product outlet line and is adapted to move product from the product discharge section to the product outlet. A source of vacuum communicates with the product outlet and is adapted to unload the product from the product outlet.

Railroad hopper car unloader

An injection device which includes a container constructed and arranged to contain a medicament, a medicament disposed within the container, a seal constructed and arranged to seal the medicament in the container, and a hypodermic needle. The hypodermic needle has a tubular, elongated, generally cylindrical wall defining an internal longitudinal bore extending longitudinally through the cylindrical wall along a longitudinal axis. The cylindrical wall forms a forward end defining a forward opening of the bore and a rearward end defining a rearward opening of the bore, the cylindrical wall having a laterally facing opening spaced closer to the rearward opening of the longitudinal bore than the forward opening of the longitudinal bore. The longitudinal bore is restricted at a position between the rearward opening and the laterally facing opening. The forward end has a point constructed and arranged to pierce an individual's flesh, the rearward end having a point constructed and arranged to pierce the seal so that the rearward opening and the laterally facing opening establish fluid communication with the medicament to enable the medicament to be dispensed through the bore and into the individual's flesh.

Injection device having anti-coring needle

A hypodermic needle comprising a tubular, elongated, generally cylindrical wall defining an internal longitudinal bore extending longitudinally therethrough along a longitudinal axis, The longitudinal bore has forward and rearward openings. The cylindrical wall is constructed and arranged to form a forward pointed end and a rearward pointed end. The rearward pointed end is defined by an annular end surface forming the rearward end of said cylindrical wall. The rearward pointed end terminates in a rearwardmost point lying in an imaginary plane disposed perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis. The annular rearward end surface defines an imaginary plane inclined with respect to the imaginary plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The cylindrical wall has a laterally facing opening spaced from the rearward opening of the longitudinal bore, and the longitudinal bore is restricted at a position between the rearward opening and the laterally facing opening.

Anti-coring needle

An injection device includes a generally tubular outer body and a medicament cartridge assembly carried within the outer body. The cartridge assembly includes a glass container, a charge of medicament disposed within the glass container, iii) a plunger member rearwardly confining the medicament, and iv) a seal for sealing the forward portion of the glass container. A needle has a rearward end disposed proximate the seal, with the seal and needle being movable with respect to one another. A rigid needle cover member is normally maintained in an inoperative position and is movable relative to said body to a protective position wherein the needle cover member extends forwardly to cover the forward end of the needle. A releasable spring is releasable in response to a predetermined actuating procedure to drive a collet member forwardly within the outer body and thereby enable i) the cartridge assembly to move relative to the needle so that the rearward end of the needle pierces the seal to establish communication with the medicament, ii) the needle to move with respect to the body so that the needle projects outwardly from the forward end of the body, and iii) the needle cover to move relative to the body from the inoperative position to the protective position so that the needle cover member extends beyond the forward end of the needle.

Dental cartridge assembly auto-injector with protective needle cover

A reloadable automatic injector comprises a reusable power pack assembly for effectuating multiple injection operations. The power pack assembly includes an outer body and an energy releasing assembly disposed within the body. The energy releasing assembly is capable of providing multiple energy releasing strokes. A disposable cartridge assembly is provided which is engageable with the power pack assembly and forms an elongate injection assembly therewith. The cartridge assembly is adapted to receive energy from the power pack during one of the energy releasing strokes. The cartridge assembly includes a housing in which a charge of medicament and a needle is contained. A plunger is disposed within the housing for forcing the medicament through the needle. The cartridge assembly receives energy from the power pack assembly during one of the energy releasing strokes to enable the needle to project from the protected position to an unprotected projecting position from the housing and to enable the plunger to force the medicament through the needle. In addition, a needle return spring is provided for returning the needle from the unprotected position to the protected position within the housing so that the housing provides the needle with a rigid protective outer covering for sanitary disposal of the cartridge assembly.

Reloadable injector

A rectal administrator comprises a body having an administrative portion adapted to be inserted into a subject's rectum. A charge of medicament is disposed within the body, and the administrative portion has at least one passage through which the medicament can exit the body. A plunger is disposed in the body and is movable from a first position to a second position within the body to dispense the medicament from the body through the at least one passage. A releasable energy source is mounted within the body so as to be released in response to a predetermined actuating procedure. The releasable energy source moves the plunger from the first position to the second position to dispense the medicament from the body through the at least one passage when released in response to the predetermined actuating procedure.
