A new solution monopropellant for use in liquid propellant guns is composed f ammonium nitrate, hydrazine hydrate, and water in a mole ratio of 1:1:0.05 to 0.30.

A solid propellant formulation and method of preparation which has enhanced urning rate characteristics and improved mechanical properties. The formulation comprises a binder, a fuel and an inorganic oxidizer consisting of ammonium perchlorate whiskers which are oriented along the direction of shear.

Aluminum particles are coated with a composition containing 84 .+-. 3 wei percent desensitizing wax, 2 .+-. 0.5 weight percent lecithin and 14 .+-. 1 weight percent nitrocellulose prior to being mixed with other ingredients of an explosive composition in a bomb manufacturing process in order to eliminate the possibility of dust explosions occurring during the bomb manufacturing process.
