Software security techniques for a vehicle include defining a plurality of waypoints within the plurality of operations of a software executed by a control system of the vehicle and defining a plurality of operations, applying Gödel numbering to the software by (i) assigning a unique integer to each of the plurality of waypoints and (ii) assigning a unique prime number to each sequential operation of the plurality of operations, calculating a Gödel number for an executed sequence of the plurality of operations, comparing the calculated Gödel number to a set of acceptable Gödel numbers corresponding to a set of acceptable sequences for executing the plurality of operations, and when the calculated Gödel number does not match any of the set of acceptable Gödel numbers, controlling, by the control system, a vehicle sub-system according to a remedial or corrective action.

A method of draining transmission fluid through a drain hole of a transmission having an electrically driven auxiliary oil pump therein is provided. The method includes enabling, at a service computer, an oil drain service. The auxiliary oil pump is commanded on such that transmission fluid is pumped throughout the transmission and out of the drain hole. A determination is made whether the transmission fluid has sufficiently been drained out of the drain hole. The auxiliary oil pump is commanded off based on a determination that sufficient transmission fluid has been sufficiently drained out of the drain hole.

A hydraulic piston position determination system for a vehicle includes a hydraulic piston actuator configured to move a piston member in response to a hydraulic fluid pressure to engage/disengage a friction member, a hydraulic solenoid valve configured to control the hydraulic fluid pressure at the hydraulic piston actuator by regulating a flow of hydraulic fluid from a hydraulic fluid supply system, and a controller configured to control the hydraulic piston actuator by controlling the hydraulic solenoid valve according to an actual duty cycle based on a flow demand change associated with the hydraulic piston actuator, and determine a position of the hydraulic piston actuator based on (i) a magnetic reluctance change and (ii) a difference between the actual duty cycle and a steady-state duty cycle for the hydraulic solenoid valve.

A vehicle system for reducing vibrations on a vehicle includes an engine connected to an automatic transmission through a turbine of a torque converter clutch. A gearset is associated with the transmission and includes a sun gear, a ring gear and a pinion carrier. A gear clutch has a first clutch component fixed to a case of the transmission and a second clutch component fixed to the gearset. The first and second clutch components are configured to slip based on an enable condition being satisfied thereby mitigating vibrational modes experienced within the vehicle system.

Control systems and methods for a vehicle transmission initiate a shift operation of the transmission and, during the transmission shift operation, determine an acceleration of a torque generating system output shaft based on its measured rotational speed and determine an acceleration of the transmission output shaft based on its measured rotational speed, identify an error source using a transmission model that maps differences between the determined and target accelerations back to torque generating system error and/or transmission clutch torque error and, based on the identified error source, adjust the actuation of at least some of the plurality of clutches to compensate for the torque generating system error and/or transmission clutch torque error to mitigate or eliminate noise/vibration/harshness (NVH) caused by the transmission shift operation.
