A high density interconnection system (2) is configured to provide a reliable interconnection between boards (4, 6). In order to accommodate space restrictions, the circuit boards (4, 6) are placed in a three-dimensional arrangement. The electrical interconnections between boards (4, 6) are provided by electrical connectors (10) rather than by a mother board. The use of electrical connectors (10) enables the signal paths length between the boards to be minimized, thereby allowing for high speed signal transmission.

High density board to board interconnection system

An electrical connector (10) terminates a conductor wire (70) through a terminal (50) having a curved slot (54), the terminal being mounted in a housing (12) which is made to contain a cam lever (30) having cam slots (42), the cam lever being mountd for rotary movement so that the cam slots force a conductor wire into the terminal slot through a mechanical advantage allowing larger gauge wires to be terminated in a tooless manner.

Cam lever connector

An electrical connector (24) terminates a conductor wire (18) through a conductive terminal (24) having a slot (54) which operates to strip and terminate the conductor wire as pushed therein by a plastic screw element (26) internally threaded (34) to mate with external threading (42) on the terminal, the plastic screw element being driven manually or by a tool such as a screwdriver to effect termination. Sealing can be provided by injecting insulation material (144) following termination and alternative versions include self tapping screw threads (120) and a separate IDC terminal (150).

Screw slot connector

An electrical connector (18) terminates a conductor wire (10) through a conductive terminal (72) having a slot (74) which operates with a plastic push button (50) fitted in a plastic housing (30), the plastic parts having surfaces and the terminal slot having an orientation to wedgingly drive and trap the conductive wire against unwanted displacement, all under manual pressure. The plastic parts include surfaces (26, 64) allowing a reverse displacement for wire removal. A multiple wire version including a common housing (90) is taught with multiple push buttons (50).

Wedge slot connector

An electrical connector for positioning between and electrically interconnecting electrical components. The electrical connector includes a dielectric housing having compartments and contact elements freely disposed in the compartments and having cantilever spring arms supporting conductive contact areas at the free ends thereof for electrical engagement with conductive pads or the like on the electrical components.

Electrical connector for interconnecting arrays of conductive areas

The present invention relates to a locking mechanism for locking an endotracheal tube to a respirator, and the method of using the same. The locking mechanism comprises two clamp mechanisms and a strap interconnecting them. One of the clamp mechanisms is tightened around the endotracheal tube, and the other clamp mechanism is a quick-release clamp that is clamped onto the respirator connector in a quickly releasable manner.

Endotracheal tube/respirator tubing connecting lock mechanism and method

A zero insertion force board to board edge connector for use with orthogonal printed circuit boards includes two mutually laterally shiftable camming members with a connecting element mounted on one camming member in opposition to conductive paths on the printed circuit boards. The camming and connecting members are laterally insertable and removable from a channel in a housing attached to one printed circuit board. The connecting element includes conductive traces which can be carried on a dielectric film and an elastomeric member biasing the conductive traces into engagement with the conductive paths.

Board to board edge connector

An electrical connector is disclosed for terminating one or more electrical conductors. The conductors are placed on a holder which moves the conductors lengthwise into cavities of the connector in which electrical terminals are contained. Conductor terminating portions of the terminals are engaged by the holder and are forcefully connected with the conductors.

Mass termination of densely grouped conductors

An electrical contact (1) includes a plate portion (10), flaps (16) are on the plate portion. A notch (12) in the plate portion straddles an insulated conductor (40), the plate portion (10) is pivoted against the conductor to penetrate sides of the notch into the conductor and establish an electrical connection, and the flaps (16) press against the conductor and establish a strain relief.

Pivoting electrical contact

Electrical connector for connecting opposed conductors on spaced-apart printed circuit boards or the like comprises a connector housing body having oppositely directed sides which have trough-like recesses therein. Elastomeric bodies are provided in the recesses and have surface portions which normally project beyond the oppositely directed sides. A flexible circuit having closely spaced parallel conductors thereon is held on the elastomeric bodies and extends over the projecting portions of these bodies and across a side of the housing body which is between the opposed oppositely directed sides. In use, the connector is clamped between opposed surfaces of the printed circuit boards with the conductors on the flexible circuit in engagement with conductors on the printed circuit boards. The elastomeric bodies are held in a compressed condition and provide the contact force which urges the conductors on the flexible circuit against the conductors on the printed circuit boards thereby to form electrical paths extending between corresponding conductors on the printed circuit boards.

Elastomeric connector for parallel circuit boards

Miniature electrical connector for forming connections between conductors on parallel spaced apart substrates comprises a generally cylindrical elastomeric body having a thin non-yielding flexible circuit wrapped therearound. The circuit has parallel spaced apart conductors on its surface so that when the connector is positioned between the two parallel substrates and compressed between the substrates, the corresponding conductors on the substrates will be electrically connected by the conductors on the flexible circuit. The flexible circuit is not firmly bonded to the elastomeric body and the body is not significantly deformed when compressed between the substrates. The flexible circuit, being non-yielding is not deformed laterally so that alignment of conductors on the circuit with conductors on the substrate is maintained.
