The present invention includes a snap installation adaptor designed to be united with a handheld tool so that the union can permanently affix snaps onto fabric. The snap installation adaptor includes an upper portion with a cap node; a lower portion with a socket node; an intermediate portion connecting the upper and lower portions; and means for transferring external downward force from the handheld tool through the upper portion so that the cap node is forced to meet the socket node, thus permanently affixing a snap onto a piece of fabric between the upper and lower portions.

Snap installation tool adaptor

An abrading tool, abrasive star and abrading kit, in which the abrading kit includes the abrasive star and the abrading tool. The abrading tool includes a threaded drive rod, retaining member for retaining an abrasive material about the threaded drive rod, an expandable support disposed about the threaded drive rod and dimensioned to brace the abrasive material, an expanding member for expanding the expandable support to adjust the diameter of the outer surface of the abrasive material, and an adjusting knob having marls disposed incrementally along its outer surface in positions corresponding to diameters of the expandable support.

Adjustable abrading tool

A contour sanding apparatus for driving a sanding belt, the apparatus includes a body and a drive pulley rotatably attached to the body, the drive pulley comprising a drive-axle dimensioned for attachment to a source of rotation. A primary arm is fixedly attached to the body and includes an end portion to which a primary idler pulley is rotatably attached. A secondary arm is also provided. The secondary arm includes a first end portion to which a secondary idler pulley is rotatably attached and may include tensioning means for maintaining the sanding belt in tension. The secondary idler pulley is disposed in relation to the primary idler pulley such that the sanding belt forms a sanding portion between the primary idler pulley and the secondary idler pulley. The sanding belt is dimensioned for disposal about the drive pulley, the primary idler pulley, and the secondary idler pulley such that the a sanding portion of the sanding belt, disposed between the primary idler pulley and the secondary idler pulley, may be made to conform to a plurality of contours.

Contour sanding apparatus and kit

A grinding attachment for use in conjunction with hand-held grinding or drilling power tools such as are commonly found around the house, and method for using this attachment. The purpose of the invention is to allow the homeowner and the like to have greater facility in performing surface sanding, grinding, or finish work on pieces of wood and the like. In particular, the goal is to provide proficiency in working with surfaces that are not planar or otherwise simple. By providing an appropriate compound support against which an abrasive belt or the like is to run as it works the surface, it is possible to have a variety of backing shapes ranging from a strictly planar backing to one that allows the abrasive material to take the shape of whatever piece is being pressed against it. The invention derives its motive power from a coupling to a power tool, typically by the insertion of a drive axle of the attachment into the chuck of a hand drill. The compound support of the attachment includes a means of spring-loading the abrasive belt so as to maintain tension in it. The intended method of use of the attachment will depend on the particular shape of the piece to be worked. The preferred method utilizes an elastic abrasive belt.
