Devices, methods, and systems for physical contact detection for device pairing are described herein. One device includes a mechanism configured to detect physical contact between the device and a wireless device, a memory, and a processor configured to execute executable instructions stored in the memory to perform a pairing of the wireless device and the device only upon the mechanism detecting the physical contact between the device and the wireless device.

In response to the hub device outputting information for establishing a second wireless connection with the sensor device, the processing circuitry is configured to establish the second wireless connection for a second wireless protocol different from the first wireless protocol. The processing circuitry is configured to output, at the second bandwidth, the second bandwidth data to the hub device using the second wireless connection. The second bandwidth is greater than the first bandwidth.

Systems and methods for activating monitoring of a security system by a central monitoring station are provided. In particular, such systems and methods can include validating a first communication path between a sensor of the security system and a control panel of the security system to allow the security system to be initially set up to operate without monitoring by the central monitoring station and separately validating a second communication path between the control panel and the central monitoring station in response to the control panel or a cloud server receiving an API call from the central monitoring station to enable such monitoring at a later time.

The inventive method for remotely maintaining and controlling a security system comprises using a device to communicate using voice capable technology with an IVR in a host facility, selecting an action from a plurality of actions provided by the IVR, performing the action on the security system, and receiving a notification of performance of the action, wherein the host facility contacts the security system to perform the action. In one embodiment, the actions can control and/or monitor the security system. The method can further comprise creating an account with an identification code on the host facility and validating the code on the IVR. The method can also include translating the selected action into a command, sending a message to a GSM device in the security system, and, in response to the message, establishing a GPRS session between the security system and the host facility, wherein the session performs the command.

The method includes the steps of transmitting an alarm notification from a protected premises to an alarm routing service, the alarm routing service establishing a voice connection between the protected premises and a central monitoring station in response to the alarm notification and the alarm routing service recording audio on the voice connection between the protected premises and the central station.
