Application-manager software authenticates a user of a client device over a channel. The authentication operation is performed using a directory service. The application-manager software presents a plurality of applications in a GUI displayed by the client device. The plurality of applications depends on the authentication, the client device, and the channel. And the plurality of applications includes a thin application and a software-as-a-service (SaaS) application. The application-manager software receives a selection as to an application from the user. If the selection is for the SaaS application, the application-manager software provisions the SaaS application. The provision includes automatically logging the user onto an account with a provider of the SaaS application using a single sign-on and connecting the user to the account so that the user can interact with the SaaS application. If the selection is for the thin application, the application manager software launches the thin application.

Unified workspace for thin, remote, and SAAS applications

A user interface includes a data flow pane and a profile pane. The data flow pane displays a flow diagram that identifies a data source. For each of multiple queries against the data source, the process issues the query against the data source asynchronously with a block size. Upon retrieval of the initial set of rows, the process repeats the query asynchronously until all of the rows have been retrieved. Periodically the process determines a high water mark for rows from the data source that have been retrieved for all of the queries. When the water mark changes, the process updates the profile pane to display statistical distributions of data values for multiple data fields in the data source. Each distribution element in each statistical distribution counts the rows below the water mark that have a single specific data value or range of data values.

Correlated incremental loading of multiple data sets for an interactive data prep application

In an embodiment, triplets of network-enabled FCIs operate to monitor the three phases of a power distribution system. In being network-enabled, the FCIs also operate as nodes of an RF mesh network. In an embodiment, upon the detection of a power failure, the triplet of network FCIs is serially operated so as to extend their networking capabilities by approximately three times.

Example embodiments provide a Group Management System having a Group Management Engine 'GME,' an Entitlement Engine, and a Provisioning Engine, which work together to allow simplified grouping of entities and providing entitlement and access to the entities based upon the group membership. In one embodiment, the GME leverages dynamic programming techniques to enable accurate, scalable systems that can manage near real time updates and changes to the group's status or to the entities' status. These components cooperate to enable provisioning of applications based upon current entitlement.

The functionality of communications standards and protocols that are application-layer specific are overlaid on an IP-based infrastructure, by employing an IP DNS server as the registration host for IP and other communications standards based and protocol based communications. Communication can occur at either the IP layer or the communications standards or protocol application layer. At the IP layer, a host application can interrogate network nodes. To extend this service to other communications standards or protocol communications, device registration and resolve services are implemented on the DNS server. Similar to the manner in which an IP-based service uses a native, IP-based DNS resolve request, a host can utilize a resolution request against the communications standards and protocol-enabled DNS server for standards and protocol application-layer interrogation of endpoints.
