A bone securement apparatus includes a bone plate configured and dimensioned to be applied across a joint of at least two bones or a space between at least two bone fragments. The bone plate includes first and second openings. A beaming member is configured to pass through the first opening, and the beaming member includes a third opening. A support member is configured to pass through the second opening and the third opening.

A vending machine to dispense ice into a container, the vending machine including a body, a container receiving compartment disposed at a front portion of the body to house the container therein, an ice dispensing spout disposed at a top portion of the container receiving compartment to dispense the ice into the container, a start button to cause the ice to be dispensed from the ice dispensing spout, and at least one of a credit card slot, a dollar bill slot, and a coin slot to activate the start button when the vending machine senses that money has been received within the vending machine via the at least one of the credit card slot, the dollar bill slot, and the coin slot, such that the ice is dispensable from the ice dispensing spout when the start button is activated.

The present invention is directed to a foot beam insert. The beam is a cannulated beam having a chamber defined by the hollow space inside the beam. The beam includes holes along the length of the beam that communicate between the hollow chamber inside and the outside of the beam. The beam further includes a groove or grooves in the outside surface of the beam.

Adjustable restraint includes a plantar plate surrounded by a peripheral element about which a plurality of supports can be positioned; a support system attachable to that plate or element for providing vertical and horizontal support; and a lower leg securing housing. The housing is attachable to the support system through adjustable fastener(s) such it can be adjusted vertically and secured in position with respect to the plantar plate. A sole portion of the plantar plate may be removable. The support system can include first support(s) and second support(s) attachable to the plate or element, and, through first adjustable fastener(s) and second adjustable fastener(s), respectively, the first adjustable fastener(s) and second adjustable fastener(s) be attachable to the housing.

In the system or method for sprinklering a building, the building has a water delivery pipe for delivery of water to at least two different floors of the building. On at least two floors, a respective sprinkler pipe with a plurality of sprinklers is installed. Also a respective pump is installed whose outlet is connected to the respective sprinkler pipe, and whose inlet is connected to the water delivery pipe. A respective sensor for the respective pump automatically activates the pump when at least one of the sprinklers is activated.

A combination bone fixation/immobilization apparatus is adapted to stabilize a patient's foot and ankle. A foot plate is adapted to have one or more transfixation wires or pins or screws fixed thereto. A substantially rigid leg support assembly is adapted to receive a patient's leg, the leg support comprising a cuff and a strap adapted to secure the cuff around the patient's leg. The leg support is rigidly attached to the foot plate. A patient's foot may thereby be fixed with transfixation wires, or pins or screws and simultaneously immobilized with respect to the ankle and lower leg.
