Mineral-filled polymer compositions and methods of forming such polymer compositions into a thermally stable article are provided. Methods of forming a polymeric article include providing a polymer composition comprising a crystallizable polymer, a mineral filler in an amount of more than about 15 wt-% based on the total weight of the polymer composition, and an impact modifier, wherein the polymer composition is at a temperature less than a crystallization temperature of the crystallizable polymer. The methods further include disposing the polymer composition in a mold, forming the polymer composition into an article within the mold, and releasing the article from the mold. The methods can include thermoforming the polymer composition in a mold, or injection molding the polymer composition in a molten form in a mold.

Mineral-filled polymer articles and methods of forming same

The present invention relates to encapsulated activated carbon and a method of preparing the same to protect the structure of the activated carbon and preserve the odor absorbing capability of the activated carbon particles. Particularly, the present invention is directed to a polymer article having odor absorption capabilities comprising a film comprising a matrix polymer and activated carbon particles at least partially encapsulated with a non-water soluble amorphous polymer, wherein the non-water soluble amorphous polymer is incompatible with the matrix polymer. The polymer article can be a bag.

A method of defogging a food packaging container surface comprising defogging a food packaging container surface comprising selecting a surface; providing (i) an antifogging nonionic surfactant blend comprising a fatty acid ester and an ethoxylated compound and (ii) a solvent selected from methyl acetate, isopropyl applying the antifogging composition to the surface.

Antifogging compositions and methods for using the same

A continuous chain of connected absorbent pouches comprises a first panel, a second panel, and a super-absorbent material. Each of the absorbent pouches is adapted to absorb liquids. The first panel and the second panel are attached to each other along their respective general peripheries so as to form a space therebetween. The space comprises super-absorbent material. At least one of the first and second panels has at least one hole formed therein. The hole is of sufficient size to be permeable to liquid. Each of the pouches is adapted to absorb at least about 20 times its own weight of a 0.9 wt. % saline solution in an unloaded condition.
