A method and apparatus is provided in which a multi-site load balancing system directs a client to a site best able to respond to the client's request based on a combination of balancing methods. Performance metric balancing is employed to select sites having the best performance metrics to participate in network latency balancing to determine the site best able to respond the request. The sites participating in the network latency balancing are selected based on having performance metrics within an allowable deviation of the best performance metric. Alternatively, network latency balancing is employed to select sites having the least network latency to participate in performance metric balancing to determine the site best able to respond to the request.

Method and apparatus for load balancing

Methods and apparatuses enable a traffic analyzer to monitor an internal connection of a computing system for one or more traffic patterns. The traffic analyzer compares traffic on the internal connection to an expected traffic pattern, and performs a policy based action based on the result of comparing the traffic pattern to the expected pattern. The traffic analyzer can exist in a stack of a VMM or a monitoring VM or be implemented in a management engine of the computing system. In one embodiment, the computing system includes traffic analyzer components in both a VMM or monitoring VM and a management engine.

In various embodiments, a management component of a managed platform may scan at least one host component of the managed platform for vulnerability of the at least one host component with respect to security policies of a management console of a network. Methods, apparatuses, articles, and systems for instantiating a control service to facilitate management of a remotely disposed platform supporting a plurality of redirection protocols of media devices of different types for redirecting the media devices, are described herein. In various embodiments, the control service is adapted to establish a control session with the remotely disposed platform and discover the supported redirection protocols of the media devices. In some embodiments, the control service is further adapted to control the remotely disposed platform based on the redirection protocols, to cause the remotely disposed platform to establish a data session with a media server, remotely disposed from the platform, having one or more of the media devices of different types, the data session including a number of redirection connections redirecting the media devices of the media server to the platform. Additionally, in one embodiment, the control service is adapted to manage the platform.
