A vehicle braking system is provided. In a preferred embodiment, the system has an actuator frame with a bore fluidly connected to the wheel brake and to a master cylinder. A piston, mounted within the bore, is operationally associated with a non-rotative nut which is threadably engaged by a power screw. To maximize reaction speed, a high efficiency thread is utilized between the power screw and the non-rotative nut. Therefore, pressure within the actuator can backdrive the piston. To prevent backdriving of the piston, there is a spring locking mechanism. The spring locking mechanism has a driver, a driven member and a coil spring with a tang at its end. The driven member has an elastomeric torsion member to absorb torsion shocks.

Braking system with nonbackdriveable actuator

A vehicle braking system is provided. In a preferred embodiment, the system has an actuator frame with a bore fluidly connected to the wheel brake and to a master cylinder. A piston, mounted within the bore, is operationally associated with a non-rotative nut which is threadably engaged by a power screw. To maximize reaction speed, a high efficiency thread is utilized between the power screw and the non-rotative nut. Therefore, pressure within the actuator can backdrive the piston. To prevent backdriving of the piston, there is a spring locking mechanism. The spring locking mechanism has a driver, a driven member and a coil spring with an inward-directed tang at its end. The tang is nested within a generally radial bore of a tab of the driven member.

Anti-lock braking system with nonback driveable actuator

A pneumatic leveling system for vehicles in which a pressure balancing valve assembly is incorporated within the cover assembly of the system air dryer. The pressure balancing valve assembly is operative to limit the pressure in the pneumatic suspension units while allowing effective pump up and restriction release for desiccant regeneration in accordance with changes in vehicle loads.

Pressure control valving for pneumatic leveling systems

A connector housing which is formed of first and second sections which are shaped to form a hollow housing having a cable insert end and a connector opening when in assembled relationship. Cable clamps are used to secure a cable in the cable insert end and to secure the first and second sections together. A multi-pin connector operatively connected to the cable is mounted in the connector opening so as to provide a free-floating connection with a mating connector. The housing may also provide a shielded connection between a utilization device having a mating connector or an identical connector housing having the mating conductor therein to provide a shielded cable-to-cable connection.
