A tool for rotating a conventional, medication bottle that is to coupled to a IV infusion bag. The tool has a main housing defining a hollow, frustro-conical shaped interior in which is mounted a flexible, high-friction, bottle-contacting member which surrounds and contacts a portion of the bottle, and a top cover/handle-member that retains the bottle-contacting member is place and also serves as a handle-element by which the tool may be rotated for screwing the bottle into the infusion bag. The top cover/handle-member may be rotated manually, or may be power-driven.

A pill-dispenser to be worn as a neck-chain. The dispenser includes a storage tube having an upper dispensing outlet selectively closed off or opened via a sliding sleeve retained in place over the dispensing outlet by o-rings. The storage tube is coupled at its upper end to a chain whereby it is suspended in pendant-like fashion for aesthetic appearance.

A combination sheath and shield for enclosing the needle of a hypodermic syringe and for preventing finger punctures during replacement of the sheath over the syringe needle, which includes a sheath that telescopically encloses the needle and frictionally engages the support portion for the needle and a sheath having foldable flaps that are foldable along the sheath during nonuse for compactness during shipping and storage.

An illuminated paper tray having a main housing with a well for storing individual sheets of paper. The rear portion of the housing incorporates electrical circuitry for energizing and de-energizing a light bulb, which light bulb illuminates the well of the housing storing the paper via a separating partition of translucent plastic. The illumination of the light bulb is controlled by the insertion or removal of a pen into a through-hole formed in the rear portion of the housing. When the pen is inserted in the housing, for storage, the light bulb is de-energized, whereas upon removal of the pen from the housing for writing, the light bulb is illuminated. The tip of the pen passing through the through-hole and into the interior of the rear portion of the housing controls a pivot plate which has mounted at its freely pivoted end a camming surface which forces a portion of the conducting electrical strips out of contact with each other to thereby break the circuitry between the batteries and the light bulb, while the removal of the pen causes the return of the pivot plate to its normal horizontal position, and the camming surface out of contact with the corresponding portions of the conducting strip of the circuitry, to thereby allow for the normal closed contact state of these conducting strips to thereby allow for the energization of the light bulb.

Illuminated paper tray

A squeeze-on flashlight in which a pair of batteries is provided in a plastic housing, one of the batteries having an outer metallic covering for selective electrical connection with a pair of elongated flexible finger elements positioned about the one battery. The finger elements extend from a spiral mount formed by a pair of loops which loops threadingly receive the threaded mounting cap of a light bulb mounted at the end of the housing remote from the end housing the one battery. By squeezing the outer plastic housing, the finger elements are urged into contact with the outer metallic cover of the one battery, to thereby close an electric circuit in series with the light bulb.

A magnifier for hypodermic syringes, primarily insulin syringes, made from a plastic material, such as acrylic, adapted to fit closely on the cylindrical barrel of a syringe and having an outer rounded surface which is polished and magnifies the numerals and lines on the syringe, with undercut opposing lips on a portion of the magnifier adapted to engage the barrel to removably secure the magnifier on the syringe and having a flat surface on the magnifier for advertising indicia and in at least one form, having a lock-like member engaged over the finger grip member on the syringe to secure the position of the magnifier on the syringe.

Syringe magnifier

A height-measuring device in which there is provided a vertically-mounted ruler element and associated slide-mount in which slides a slide having a lower surface for resting on the head of a person to be measured. The slide has a pair of rearwardly extending flanges that act as runners for sliding in channels formed in the slide-mount. The slide has a bracket extending from the flanges, which bracket has a pair of side surfaces which mounts a hexagonal-head screw, the head of which is nonrotatably mounted in one side surface. A locking nut is mounted at the end of the screw and is rotatable in a first direction to urge the pair of side surfaces, which are made of hard plastic, toward each other, and, therefore, also the flanges, to cause the flanges into clamping relationship with the inner surface walls of the pair of channels. The lower surface of the slide is coplanar with a surface which indicates on the ruler element directly adjacent thereto the correct height measurement.

Height-measuring device

The invention comprises a blood lancet device for puncturing the fleshy part on the inner side of a finger tip, or an ear lobe, in order to draw blood for a hemoglobin test, or other type of blood test and which is completely sanitary to avoid any possibility of contamination of the blood drawn for testing. The device includes a finger grip element to be held by a user, with a surface adapted to be engaged with the fleshy finger tip pad, or ear lobe, and a hinged striker element pivotally mounted on the device and spring actuated to drive a sharp puncturing element secured on the striker, into such pad, with a thumb piece on the striker for drawing it back to a cocked position and having a twist-off or tear away protective element for maintaining the sanitary condition of the puncturing element until it is to be used. The striker element is flexible and the finger grip element is provided with an upstanding projection on the top surface, which the striker contacts and about which the striker flexes when it is spring actuated downwardly about its pivot, whereby the puncturing element is thrust downwardly below the bottom surface of the finger grip element to puncture the flesh and then be retracted upwardly when it rebounds to dispose the puncture element substantially above such bottom surface in a withdrawn position.

Sanitary blood lancet device

The invention relates to a flashlight that is adapted to be hand held and wherein the circuit to the bulb is completed by merely a squeezing action on the outer tubular shell of the container, which pressure causes a series of lengthwise metal fingers on a clip mounting the bulb, to be brought into contact with the metal can housing the battery and thus energize the bulb.
