An aircraft is provided including an airframe, an extending tail, and a counter rotating, coaxial main rotor assembly including an upper rotor assembly and a lower rotor assembly. A translational thrust system positioned at the extending tail, the translational thrust system providing translational thrust to the airframe. A cockpit in the airframe, the cockpit including two seats and a single collective control input positioned between the two seats.

Single collective stick for a rotary wing aircraft

A fly-by-wire aircraft and method of flying a fly-by-wire aircraft is disclosed. The aircraft includes a control system for flying the aircraft in one of a proportional ground control mode and a model following controls mode. A control device at a control interface of the aircraft selectively activates a trim follow up function in the control system. When flying the aircraft in a proportional ground control mode, trim follow up function can be activated. The control system can then transition into the model following controls mode with the trim follow up function activated to reduce transient behavior.

Pilot activated trim for fly-by-wire aircraft

A computer implemented method for displaying aircraft systems information on an aircraft display relating to and facilitating operation of an aircraft are disclosed herein. The method can include displaying a plurality of system indicators in a system indicator region of an aircraft display. At least two of the indicators of the plurality of system indicators in the system indicator region are disposed in a structurally approximated relationship relative to each other to increase system recognition and/or interpretation of status of a corresponding physical system indicated by each indicator.

Aircraft information systems

An aircraft is provided and includes an airframe defining a cockpit with first and second control stations configured for co-activation and complementary deactivation, flight control assemblies disposed at multiple locations of the airframe and a flight control computer (FCC). The FCC is configured to control operations of the flight control assemblies in accordance with current flight conditions and commands received at activated ones of the first and second control stations that are inputted by a flight crew. The FCC includes a secondary monitoring system to identify when commands are input at a deactivated one of the first and second control stations, to determine whether the commands are indicative of normal and intentional piloting inputs and to generate control station cues in an event the commands are indicative of normal and intentional piloting inputs to alert the flight crew of a hazardous condition or automatically turn the station back on.

Station deselect and cueing system

A device that allows an operator to move steering gear at the same speed as the control device. The invention uses two electric motors with forward and reverse capabilities that are linked to function synchronously by a chain or belt that is carried by sprockets or pulleys on each of the drive motors. A second sprocket or pulley is attached to the facing of one of the drive motor sprockets (pulley). This sprocket (pulley) is linked by a chain or belt to a cable drive system by another sprocket (pulley) that is attached to a cable drive shaft. Activating the drive motors causes a cable be pulled or pushed. The cable, which is attached to the item to be moved, in turn drives this item as desired. These items can include an outboard motor, an out drive for an inboard motor, wheels, valves, etc.

Electric servo motor cable steering power head

A directional nozzle for the jet output that is attached to a control cable system. This cable turns the directional nozzle, which causes the trust of the jet output to turn the boat. Thus, the boat can be steered without having to turn the entire motor. Two different mechanisms are disclosed that enable the steering. The first is a tiller system that operates much like the traditional tiller on an outboard motor. However, unlike those tillers, this tiller operates the directional nozzle and does not turn the entire motor. The second mechanism is a bicycle handlebar system that is placed forward of the motor, much like a traditional wheel. The handlebar system, when combined with the directional nozzle system, produces faster steering response without the effort required to turn the wheel to make large sweeping turns.

Jet powered steering system for small boat outboard motors

A joystick controller for modified steering system for boats with outboard motors. The system uses a directional nozzle for the jet output that is attached to a control cable system. This cable turns the directional nozzle, which causes the trust of the jet output to turn the boat. Thus, the boat can be steered without having to turn the entire motor. The system also has a reversing cup to change direction. The system uses a joystick that connects to a set of actuators, which in turn, connect to the directional nozzle, reverse cup and throttle. In this way, the joystick can control the movement of the boat in any direction. The joystick can be used with a conventional motor as well.

Joy stick control system for a modified steering system for small boat outboard motors

A dental tool for aiding in forming composite type dental fillings. The tool works by forcing the body of the tooth away from the contact surface on two surface (DO) class II posterior restorations, and by driving adjacent teeth away from contact on DO class II posterior restorations. The tool is a modified set of pliers in which the jaws push outwards when the handles are contracted. The jaws have small tips designed for the typical uses. One is a universal tip for MOD work. A second jaw is used for DO/MO left. The third is used for the DO/MO right.
