A uniquely designed torque wrench having a torque body, the torque body attached to a frictional squeezing clamp, and a lug socket which is rotationally connected to the frictional squeezing clamp. The frictional squeezing clamp entering a contracted stated during extension of a rod of a hydraulic cylinder, and entering an expanded state during the retraction of the rod of a hydraulic cylinder, the lug socket turning the wing nut of a hammer union.

An improved multi-bolt and nut torque wrench for installing and removing bolts or nuts from flanged joints or the like which includes a plurality of torque stations having a plurality of high torque wrenches for engaging the heads of the bolts or nuts during a high torque phase of removal or installation; a plurality of low-torque motors operatively engaged with the wrenches for rotating the bolts or nuts during the low torque phase of removal or installation; a source of hydraulic fluid for driving the low-torque motors during the low-torque phase, and driving the high-torque wrenches during the high torque phase; and a mechanism for switching between the two phases depending on the torque needed.

Squeezing clamp hammer union torque tool

An improved hydraulic wrench including a one-piece housing in which one end of the housing forms internally a cylinder for hydraulically reciprocating power and the second end of the housing includes an opening in which a torque arm/ratchet mechanism can be pivotally connected by, for example, a square shaft. There is further included a piston shaft which has a fixed piston on the first end and the second end includes an elongated slot which provides a flat wall at 90 degrees of the reciprocating power source. The wall in the elongated slot allows the drive pin which connects the ratchet mechanism to the piston shaft to roll up and down during cycling of the tool, and provides a non-pivoting reciprocating power source as the piston shaft moves backward and forward during operation. There is included a ratchet wheel fixed to a square shaft for rotation therewith, a ratchet pawl on the drive lever and engaging the ratchet wheel to rotate the square shaft upon reciprocation of the piston shaft in the cylinder.

Torque wrench system

A wrench body pivotally connected to an end of a reciprocating power source, a tool head assembly attached to the opposite end of the reciprocating power source, which would include a tool head, having an aperture for the work piece, tracking arm attached to the tool head and for being matingly slideable into a surface of the wrench body; a retainer ring having at least two retainer grooves; at least two roller drive pins positioned within each of the retainer grooves, and biased away from the retainer rim by a leaf spring inserted between the wall of the rim and each drive pin; a ratcheting gear operative attached to the tool body and positioned in the aperture for connecting the work piece, the ratcheting gear having a plurality of axially aligned and beveled channels along the perimeter of the gear so that one of the drive pins are received into at least one of the channels, in order to achieve the ratcheting function, and through a movement of 15.degree., the second ratcheting pin is positioned within a channel, for reestablishing the ratcheting motion, while the first pin resumes its position within the retainer groove. A second embodiment would provide a plurality of rollers to particularly define the tracking arm, and a pair of springs to work with the drive pins.
