A dispensing system and method for the on-demand dispensing of spoonable or drinkable food products into a container. Single servings or larger portions of these products can be dispensed. The system and method achieve dispensing of the product with a visual differentiation of the components in the container. The container may be translucent or transparent so that the consumer can view the visually differentiated product therein. The products form yet another embodiment of the invention.

The invention relates to a dispensing system and method for on-demand dispensing of spoonable or drinkable food products in a container. Single servings or larger portions of these products can be dispensed. The system and method achieve dispensing of the product with a visual differentiation of the components in the container. The invention relates to a capsule for the preparation of a beverage obtained by supplying hot water within the capsule under pressure and releasing the beverage from the capsule. The capsule includes a food substance therein, a first surface adapted to be traversed by a flow of water entering the capsule, and a second surface adapted to be traversed by a flow of beverage exiting the capsule. The second surface is adapted to deform outwardly upon action of the inside water pressure thereon. Also, that surface includes at least one opening member capable of deforming inwards the capsule upon a mechanical reaction force applied from outside onto the closure member as a result of the deformation of the second surface due to the build-up of the inside pressure.

Method and device for preparing a hot beverage

The invention relates to a device for cleanly and conveniently refilling a flowable substance in a dispensing device which comprises a container assembly of a container containing a flowable substance; a container holding assembly attached to the container which includes an opening mechanism for securing the opening of the container when the container holding assembly is held in a stable delivery position on a reservoir. An unlatching mechanism is also provided to release the container holding assembly from the reservoir in a convenient way. The invention also relates to the combination of such a container assembly and a reservoir assembly which is especially adapted for securely receiving the container assembly.

Device for dispensing a flowable powder substance

A dispenser for dispensing a viscous fluid food product from a pouch. The dispenser includes a housing configured and dimensioned for receiving the pouch. The pouch includes a food in the form of a viscous fluid therein. The pouch has first and second ends, a sidewall that can be arranged to form first and second opposed surfaces and an outlet. The dispenser incorporates an assembly that includes a roller for pressing the pouch so as to urge the viscous fluid food product toward the outlet. To do this, the roller has a pressing surface disposable in a position adjacent the first surface of the pouch and a planar surface disposed adjacent the second surface of the pouch. The dispenser also includes a closure assembly arranged for engagement with the outlet for closing same. This assembly is also capable of opening the outlet so as to cause the roller to move along the pouch surface toward the outlet by gravity for expelling the viscous fluid food product through the outlet.

The invention relates to a container assembly of a container containing a flowable substance; a container holding assembly attached to the container which comprises an opening mechanism for selectively opening the container and being adapted to move from a closed position to an open position of the container and vice versa, and a locking mechanism for holding the opening means in a closed position of the container. The locking mechanism is intended to be released by the release member of a reservoir assembly arranged so that release is effected when the container holding assembly is held in a stable delivery position on a reservoir. The invention also relates to the combination of such a container assembly and a reservoir assembly specially adapted for receiving the container assembly.

The invention relates to a dispensing device for dispensing a flowable substance to form a beverage. The device includes a removable container which in a filled state has a main flexible pouch into which is stored the flowable substance and a fitment located at the bottom of the pouch and tightly attached thereto. The fitment is shaped so as to include a pair of side flanges at least one passage for allowing the flowable substance to pass therethrough by gravity. The device also has a dispensing base adapter that includes a pair of side channel-type guides shaped to guide in slidable arrangement the flanges and a bottom bearing surface for supporting the fitment. In addition, the device has an elastic member for maintaining a downwardly oriented pressure of the flanges onto the bottom bearing surface effective to create a substantially tight seal arrangement and prevent the flowable substance from entering the space between the flanges and the bottom bearing surface.
