Service management incident data stored in a normalized format on a database is accessed from a hosted client instance responsive a REST API call by a client application on a mobile device in an online database session in an online mode between the hosted client instance and the client application. Responsive to an indication of the client application operating in offline mode, a batch request is executed on the database to generate a payload corresponding to a subset of the data, the payload having a denormalized format that is optimized for transmission to the mobile device and caching onto a local database on the mobile device for access in offline mode. Data from the cached subset of data stored on the local database is accessible by the mobile device in a simulated database session in the offline mode between the client application and the local database via a simulation API.

An embodiment includes a computational instance managing a managed network of computing devices, some communicating by proprietary protocol, and comprising a database storing representations of the computing devices and one or more sets of program logic configured to support the proprietary protocol, as well as one or more server devices configured to: receive, from an edge gateway software application, a request identifying a particular computing device on the managed network that communicates by the proprietary protocol; based on this request, select a set of the program logic configured to support the proprietary protocol; transmit a representation of the program logic, receipt of which is configured to cause the edge gateway software application to execute the set of program logic and obtain thereby configuration and state information from the particular computing device; receive, from the edge gateway software application, the configuration and state information; and store the configuration and state information.

Systems, methods, and computer readable medium are provided for presenting requested resources on a mobile device. A method of this disclosure may include transmitting a uniform resource locator (URL) associated with a requested resource and receiving a response to the transmission of the URL, wherein the response comprises data usable by the mobile device to identify a resource type indicative of the requested resource. Based on the identified resource type, the requested resource can be presented using a user interface component or a web browser component depending on whether the identified resource type is capable of being presented by the user interface component without reliance on web browser functionality provided on the mobile device.
