A downhole tool for providing a pressure differential between sub-assemblies, the downhole tool including an elongated body, a tubular assembly disposed within the elongated body, the tubular assembly including a central flowbore with an inner diameter and a central longitudinal axis, a camming device, an actuator member located below the tubular assembly, having a dual-bore configuration, the actuator member including a first bore, a second bore, and a concave seating surface formed within the second bore for receiving a obstructing device, wherein the first bore and the second bore are oriented 90 degrees to one another so that fluid may flow through the actuator while it is in either a first or a second position, and a stationary sleeve concentrically disposed between the actuator member and the elongated body is disclosed.

A downhole tool for isolating zones in a well, the tool including a mandrel, a sealing element disposed around the mandrel, and an upper cone disposed around the mandrel proximate an upper end of the sealing element. The tool further including an upper slip assembly disposed around the mandrel adjacent a sloped surface of the upper cone, a lower cone disposed around the mandrel proximate a lower end of the sealing element, a lower slip assembly disposed around the mandrel adjacent a sloped surface of the lower cone, and two element end rings. Further, the tool includes a first element end ring disposed adjacent the upper end of the sealing element and a second element end ring disposed adjacent the lower end of the sealing element, and two element barrier assemblies, each assembly disposed adjacent one of the two element end rings.

Drillable bridge plug

A drillable bridge plug comprising a mandrel, a sealing element disposed around the mandrel, a plurality of backup rings adjacent the sealing element, a lower slip assembly disposed around the mandrel, an upper slip assembly disposed around the mandrel, an upper cone adjacent the upper slip assembly and engaged with the mandrel with at least one axial locking apparatus and at least one rotational locking apparatus, and a lower cone adjacent the lower slip assembly and engaged with the mandrel with at least one axial locking apparatus and at least one rotational locking apparatus. A drillable bridge plug comprising a mandrel and at least one slip assembly at least partially made of a material having less than 10% elongation.

A downhole tool for isolating zones in a well includes a mandrel, a sealing element disposed around the mandrel, an upper cone disposed around the mandrel proximate an upper end of the sealing element, an upper slip assembly disposed around the mandrel adjacent a sloped surface of the upper cone, a lower cone disposed around the mandrel proximate a lower end of the sealing element, a lower slip assembly disposed around the mandrel adjacent a sloped surface of the lower cone, and two element end rings. The two element end rings include a first element end ring disposed adjacent the upper end of the sealing element and a second element end ring disposed adjacent the lower end of the sealing element. The downhole tool includes two element barrier assemblies; each assembly disposed adjacent one of the two element end rings.

An anchoring device to secure a packer assembly within a casing, including a frangible ring having a plurality of grips on an outer circumference, wherein a first end of the frangible ring includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced slots, and an expansion ring having a plurality of castellations configured to engage the slots of the first end of the frangible ring is disclosed. A method to secure a packer assembly in a casing, including engaging a plurality of arcuate segments of a segmented ring with a plurality of slots in a first end of a frangible ring, engaging a plurality of castellations of an expansion ring with the plurality of slots on a second end of the frangible ring, and moving the expansion ring in an axial direction towards the frangible ring and splitting the frangible ring into a plurality of slip segments, thereby radially extending the plurality of slip segments and segmented ring into the casing is also disclosed.

Permanent anchoring device

A downhole tool includes a mandrel, a sealing element disposed around the mandrel, an upper cone disposed above the sealing element and a lower cone disposed below the sealing element, an upper slip assembly disposed above the upper cone and a lower slip assembly disposed below the sealing element, at least one lock ring configured to maintain energization of the sealing element when the downhole tool is set, and a secondary lock that couple the upper cone with the at least one lock ring. A method of increasing pack-off force of a downhole tool includes setting the downhole tool and energizing further the sealing element by applying a differential pressure to the downhole tool. A method of retrofitting a downhole tool includes providing a secondary lock disposed around a mandrel, the secondary lock including at least one arm having an axial portion extending downwardly therefrom and a threaded portion, and assembling the secondary lock to the downhole tool, the assembling including engaging the threaded portion of the secondary lock to a threaded surface of an upper cone disposed around the mandrel of the downhole tool.

A downhole mill includes a plurality of cutters extending generally radially from a center region to a gage diameter, wherein the plurality of cutters includes a first serrated cutter blade having a plurality of peaks and valleys along its length. The plurality of cutters includes a second serrated cutter blade having a plurality of peaks and valleys along its length. The plurality of cutters includes a non-serrated cutter blade positioned upon the cutting face between the first serrated cutter blade and the second serrated cutter blade, wherein the peaks of the first serrated cutter blade is radially aligned with the valleys of the second serrated cutter blade. A pump-off sub configured to release a downhole mill includes a dovetail connection maintained by a c-ring in an expanded state.

A well bore tool with a torsional resistant slip mechanism for resisting axial and torsional forces comprising a mandrel, a plurality of slips disposed about the circumference of the mandrel. The slips include a plurality of inserts oriented to resist axial forces and torsional forces. The tool also comprises a setting means adjacent each to slip for radially expanding and setting said slips.

Torsional resistant slip mechanism and method

A packer for use in extreme service applications comprises a radially expandable packing element, a plurality of slip members above the packing element and a plurality of slip members below the packing element. The slip members are each provided with corresponding setting cones disposed adjacent thereto for radially expanding the slips. In addition, a scoop for use in extreme service application includes a double slot-and-pin locking mechanism for engaging the scoop and lock ring retainer.

High pressure permanent packer

A scoop capable of orienting a orientable downhole tool, such as a whipstock assembly, comprising: an orienting member that includes a helical upper surface that terminates in a first pin engaging slot. The pin engaging slot includes upper and lower closed ends such that when the orientable downhole tool advances toward the orienting member, a pin on the orientable downhole tool engages the helical upper surface and orients the orientable downhole tool assembly and when said pin on the orientable downhole tool assembly engages the slot, the orienting member resists axial movement in either axial direction and resists rotational movement in either rotational direction. An alternative embodiment comprises: an orienting key member that includes a helical upper surface that terminates in a first pin engaging slot, and a supplemental member including at least one guide surface terminating in a second pin engaging slot, wherein the orienting member and the supplemental member are concentrically engaged and axially positioned relative to each other such that when the orientable tool advances axially toward the scoop, an orienting pin on the orientable tool engages the helical upper surface and azimuthally orients the orientable tool before a supplemental pin on the orientable tool engages said supplemental member.

Scoop for use with an anchor system for supporting a whipstock

A slip assembly for engaging a downhole tool and preventing it from rotating within a casing comprises a frangible ring and a plurality of slip pads supported on the ring, the slip pads preferably engaging the downhole tool by a tongue and groove mechanism. In addition, the camming interfaces between each slip pad and the tool comprise planar surfaces.
