An intravenous drug access system. In one embodiment of the invention, the drug access system includes an IV bag having an inlet port and outlet port, whereby the inlet port is a female luer integral therewith. The integral female luer fitting may be fitted with a sealed end cap comprising a male luer insert with a closed end. An alternative embodiment of the present invention comprises a discrete pre-molded connector made with one spike at one end and a female luer fitting at the opposing end. The spike is used to penetrate a standard IV bag through a conventional inlet port.

An intravenous drug access system. Apparatus for delivering a viscous liquid to a surgical site employs a conventional syringe having a barrel and a plunger movable axially within the barrel from a withdrawn position to an inserted position. The apparatus includes an internally-threaded sleeve and a substantially cylindrical actuation element. The sleeve is configured to receive the plunger in its withdrawn position, and has an open proximal end and a distal end slot configured for receiving the syringe barrel therethrough. The actuation element has an externally-threaded distal portion dimensioned to screw into the proximal end of the sleeve, and a plunger seat, at the distal end of the actuation element, that bears against the plunger and that pushes the plunger axially toward its inserted position in the barrel as the actuation element is threaded into the sleeve.

Apparatus for delivering a viscous liquid to a surgical site

An inflation device is disclosed for inflation of a balloon of a balloon catheter. A housing defines a fluid-receiving reservoir in fluid communication with the balloon and an interior space for completely receiving a pressure gauge which accesses the fluid for measurement of the pressure within the system. The reservoir has a piston and threaded plunger extending from a proximal opening in the reservoir. The threaded plunger is selectively engaged by a biased rotatable arm on the housing. The piston and plunger are part of a syringe received within the reservoir, and the housing defines an aperture for visual readout of the level of liquid in the reservoir. The pressure gauge contains a Bourdon tube and further contains a gauge fluid in communication with the tube. The means for isolating the inflation fluid from the gauge is an expandable bladder disposed in the neck between the gauge and the inflation fluid so that the bladder expands upon increased fluid pressure within the closed system to create a pressure readout. The housing defines an aperture for visual readout of a timer in the form of an LCD display with a frontally-illuminated screen. The timer has a manual activation lever and the housing includes an aperture allowing manual activation of the lever.

A portable climbing apparatus consisting of an upper member that supports users body in a sitting or standing position facing toward or away from a tree or columnar like member, featuring a novel one piece continuous length of tubular steel rigid rail assembly and elevated cross bar portion shaped to proved multiple functions as a back rest, foot rest, and forward safety rail or guard member that house a half hexagon shaped tubular steel tree engagement member in telescopic alignment that cooperatively encircles a tree between two opposing sets of steel gripper members. A detachable seat member featuring three horizontal placement positions: one (1) near the base of tree used as an equipment shelf, seat or shooting rest, and two (2) positions to either the right or left lateral side of stand sitting/standing main frame platform member for use as an equipment shelf or shooting rest platform and used in either of these two positions when ascending and descending a tree or columnar like member. A lower foot climber member that supports user's feet and has the same opposing grippers and tree engagement member in telescopic alignment to the rail assembly with apertures provided in each rail member to adjust the length of the tree engagement member legs to varying diameter trees.

An apparatus for climbing a tree or like vertical columnar member comprising an upper climbing member including a main frame having a tree engagement gripper support attached to the terminal ends of the main frame, lower gripper means attached to said gripper support and positioned to provide gripping pressure against a tree, a shaped rail attached to said main frame opposite the terminal ends thereof, and comprising an elevated safety-bar portion in the form of a convoluted loop with two open ends, a tree engagement portion in telescopic sliding adjustment engagement with the open ends of the shaped rail for selectively affixing the shaped rail to a tree, upper gripper means attached to the tree engagement portion and positioned to provide gripping pressure against the tree, a plurality of vertical rear bracing means positioned near the terminal ends of the main frame and joining the main frame to the shaped rail, a main frame platform covering the area between the center and the non-terminal ends portion of the main frame, a plurality of opposed vertical center bracing means joining said main frame and shaped rail, a pair of pivotable tubular holders mounted on opposed vertical center bracing means, a detachable seat telescopically inserted into the tubular holders and a foot climber member.
