A children's handrail assembly consists of four equally spaced connector brackets having three sections of plastic tubing interconnected therebetween. The connector brackets are secured to a standard handrail by means of cable ties which pass through apertures in the connector bracket and pull tightly around the standard handrail. The children's handrail can be applied to either wall mounted or spindle supported standard handrails. When wall mounted, the connector brackets urge against the wall surface. When spindle mounted, an additional cable tie may be employed to secure the bracket to a spindle.

The invention provides a method of determining the content of progenitor cells in a hematopoietic cell culture. The method comprises measuring one or more metabolic parameters of the culture, such as oxygen consumption, glucose consumption and/or lactate production, and using the measured parameter(s) to determine the content of progenitor cells.

An improved lawn renovating tool for aerating, mulching, dethatching, seeding and fertilizing lawns which is lightweight and easy to use. The tool has a lightweight handle, an elongate tubular shaft with a seed or fertilizer feeding and soil breaking element attached to the bottom portion of the elongate shaft. The seed or fertilizer feeding and soil breaking element is a partially triangular tube having spike-tooth rotatable wheel-type attachments along its base and a series of holes for feeding seed or fertilizer from a feed hopper mounted on the elongate shaft. A damper and control pedal are also included, regulating the flow of seed or fertilizer.

Tool for renovating, aerating, dethatching, mulching or seeding lawns

The invention is a flow-through bioreactor for the retention and culture of cells in perfused media. The bioreactor is a generally rectangular vessel with inlet and outlet ports in the lid allowing for media flow along the longitudinal axis of the vessel. The inner surface of the bottom wall of the bioreactor has a plurality of generally rectangular grooves having a length, a depth, and a width. The grooves are positioned in the bottom wall such that their length is transverse to the longitudinal axis of the vessel, allowing media flow across the width of the grooves. Cells settle into the grooves, where they proliferate and differentiate, without entering the bulk flow of media through the vessel, thus avoiding loss of cells due to media flow. The preferred grooves have a width to depth ratio of about 1:1 or 2:1. The preferred width of the grooves is about 50 .mu.m to about 5,000 .mu.m, and the preferred depth is about 50 .mu.m to about 5,000 .mu.m.

An apparatus for providing a maintenance treatment to a dental tool, the apparatus comprising a station to which the tool is able to be detachably mounted, an agent supply means (for supplying an agent used in the maintenance treatment), and a purging substance supply means. The station has agent conduit means and purging conduit means which are able to be detachably connected to passageway means of the dental tool. The agent supply means is arranged to transmit the agent through the agent conduit means in a manner that the agent contacts portions of agent-benefitted portions of the dental tool. The purging substance supply means is arranged to transmit the purging substance through the purging conduit means in a manner that the purging substance is able to remove particles of the agent from portions of agent-detrimented portions of the dental tool.
