A systematic approach to producing multi-dimensional photon images on a computer platform having applications to a plurality of input image(s) from various sources, and applications to coordinate and adjust numerous variables which determine the quality of the image, such as the size of the imported images, the output image size, the resolving power of the viewing screen and the width of the resolving elements, the dots per inch of the output device (or pixels per inch), the desired nearest object, the desired furthest object and the determination of the central or the 'key subject', rules of interphasing, the number of frames or layers, the minimum parallax, and the maximum parallax, and, thus, provide a digital multi-dimensional image without jumping images or fuzzy features or other visual distortions by creating high quality output images both in the form of a printed hardcopy or as a viewed image on an appropriate viewing device. The digital multi-dimensional image platform based system controls the position and path of light from the original object to the human visual system.

A system for making PET objects including a means for reacting a first PET precursor and a second PET precursor to produce a PET melt; a means for flowing the PET melt to a valve having at least two outlets; a means for flowing the PET melt from at least one of the at least two outlets to at least one die forming line and one pelletizing (cutter) line. A means for controlling individually the mass flow of the PET melt in each of the at least two system lines independently of the other and a means for forming the PET objects from the PET melt. The control scheme is a combination of a feed forward system as well as a feedback loop. The entire control scheme is part of the overall system PLC. The method for making a container includes providing a first heated conveyor having a first belt, the first belt including a plurality of heated shoes; providing a second conveyor having a second belt, the first belt and the second belt being substantially overlapping to provide a nip between at least one of the plurality of heated shoes and the second belt, the first and the second belts traveling in a common direction; placing a container on the second belt prior to the nip, the container having a opening disposed therethrough; placing a piece of lenticular material over the opening; and bonding the piece of lenticular material to the opening in the nip.

Microlens windows and interphased images for packaging and printing and methods for manufacture

The present microlens for packaging and printing includes a package including a body; and a microlens window located on the body to display at least one graphical image in a first portion of the microlens window and the contents of the package through a second portion of the microlens window.

A plurality of input digital pixel images, having differing pixel array sizes, are scaled to a plurality of common pixel dimension input images based on a printer resolution value, a data characterizing dimensions of the printed image, and a final size value for at least one of the plurality of digital pixel images. A lenticule resolution data is received. A composite image file is formed of the plurality of scaled input digital pixel images, and at least one left-right image file pair is generated from the composite image file. The left-right image file pair are interlaced and printed on a printer associated with the printer resolution value.

Method for scaling and interlacing multidimensional and motion images

Multiple left-eye, right-eye three images of a ground area are obtained from an aerial or satellite platform. The left-eye, right-eye images are transferred to a digital processor which rasterizes and interleaves the images to an output file for printing. The output file is printed on a hard copy medium and overlaid with a microlens sheet having a plurality of lenses. The lenses refract the printed image such that a viewer sees from a first position relative to the hard copy a three-dimensional image of the ground area as seen from a first aerial or satellite viewing position and, from a second position relative to the hard copy, sees a three-dimensional image of the ground area as seen from a second aerial or satellite viewing position. Optionally, the interleaving and the microlenses are such that a viewer can obtain a 360 degree view, of three dimensional images of the ground area by rotating the hard copy through a plurality of viewing positions.

Multiple angle display produced from remote optical sensing devices

Images of an object or geographical area obtained for a plurality of optical bands. The images are transferred to a digital processor which rasterizes and interleaves the images to an output file for printing. The output file is printed in an alignment with a microlens sheet having a plurality of lenses. The lenses refract the printed image such that a viewer sees from a first position relative to the hard copy an image corresponding to the object or geographical area as seen in a first frequency band of the optical spectrum and, from a second viewing position sees an image corresponding to the object or geographical area as seen in a second frequency band of the optical spectrum. At least one of the first and second frequency bands may be a non-visible band. The viewed images may include an indicia of the optical band corresponding to the image.

Multi-spectral display

A two-dimensional image file is transferred from a client via the Internet or other data transfer network to a server having a processor for performing selectable image data processing, according to a stored program. The processor generates a file for output, formatting and fixation on a micro-optical material. The image fixed on the micro-optical material is seen by the unaided eye as three dimensional, or an action, zoom, flip, or morphing sequence, depending on the image processing selected. For three-dimensional imaging the processor assigns regions within the image to different image surfaces, and displaces each according to multiple viewing angles. The image surfaces are interphased into a single data file which is output and fixed, by printing or photographic processes, on the micro-optical material. The printed image is either printed directly on the micro-optical material or laminated. The image may also be viewed through a CRT having an overlaid micro-optical material.

Multi-dimensional image system for digital image input and output

One or more pixel images are stored in a programmable computer. A lenticular sheet having a plurality of lenticules is placed in an inkjet printer having a printhead and a light sensor. The light sensor scans across the lenticular sheet and generates a scan data. A lenticular data is calculated based on the scan data, the lenticular data representing the lenticule spacing or frequency. At least a portion of the pixel images are formatted with a pixel spacing based on the lenticular data and printed. The formatting aligns the pixels with the lenticules.

Method and apparatus for direct printing on a lenticular foil

A method and apparatus for producing a lenticular plastic sheet from a plastic sheet having a first surface and an opposite second surface employs a first chill roller having an outer surface, a patterned chill roller having an outer surface defining a first lenticular pattern thereon, disposed adjacent and parallel to the first chill roller so as to define a first nip therebetween and a second chill roller, having an outer surface and being spaced apart from the first chill roller and disposed adjacent and parallel to the patterned chill roller so as to form a second nip therebetween. A plastic sheet is extruded into the first nip so that the plastic sheet is molten as it passes into the first nip and so that the first surface of the plastic sheet is in contact with the first lenticular pattern, thereby facilitating the formation of a second lenticular pattern on the first surface. The second lenticular pattern is complimentary in shape to the first lenticular pattern. A belt is disposed about the first chill roller and the second chill roller that applies force to the second surface of plastic sheet in the direction of the patterned chill roller, thereby maintaining the first surface in contact with the first lenticular pattern on the patterned chill roller to inhibit distortion of the second lenticular pattern on the first surface of the plastic sheet as the plastic sheet cools from being in a molten state to a non-molten state.

Method and apparatus for making lenticular plastics

A process for forming a lenticular-coated substrate, and the lenticular-coated substrate manufactured from this process, is provided comprising the steps of continuously advancing a plastic substrate film having an upper side and a lower side past an extrusion station; continuously coextruding a molten thermoplastic tie resin and a molten thermoplastic lenticular resin onto the upper side of the substrate film from the extrusion station to form a composite comprising a substrate layer, a tie layer and a lenticular layer such that the tie layer is superposed on the substrate film and the lenticular layer is superposed on the tie layer; and continuously advancing the composite past a chill roll to form the lenticular-coated substrate such that the lenticular layer of the composite contacts the chill roll to form a lenticular pattern. Further, an improved process for producing a three-dimensional image is provided comprising the additional steps of cutting the lenticular pattern having equally spaced lines onto the chill roll with a precision gravure engraving machine; color separating an image to produce a multiplicity of color-separated images; for each color-separated image, engraving with the precision gravure engraving machine a gravure dot pattern with line spacings identical to the lenticular pattern onto a gravure print cylinder; and printing the image onto the lower side of the substrate film so that the gravure dot pattern of each gravure print cylinder is in registration with the lenticular pattern of the chill roll to produce the three-dimensional image.
