A heat exchanger includes a tube having a length and an outside boundary. The tube is configured to convey fluid therethrough to facilitate heat transfer, and the outside boundary of the tube having a bottom wall portion, a top wall portion opposing the bottom wall portion, and two side wall portions between the bottom wall portion and the top wall portion, in which a segment of the length of the tube has a plurality of dimples selectively placed outside of the bottom wall portion.

A furnace for a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a heat exchanger tube including a tube inlet and a tube outlet, such that the heat exchanger tube is configured to receive combustion products via the tube inlet, circulate the combustion products through the heat exchanger tube, and discharge the combustion products via the tube outlet. Additionally, the furnace includes a collector box coupled to the heat exchanger tube and having a cavity configured to receive the combustion products via the tube outlet. The furnace includes a diverter plate disposed within the cavity, where the diverter plate overlaps the tube outlet to disperse the combustion products received via the tube outlet throughout the collector box.

A furnace of a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes a heat exchange tube configured to receive a working fluid from a burner and a modulating valve fluidly coupled to the burner. The modulating valve is configured to regulate an amount of fuel supplied to the burner to generate the working fluid. The furnace also includes a blower configured to draw the working fluid through the heat exchange tube, a motor drive configured to adjust a speed of the blower, and a controller configured to adjust a position of the modulating valve and to control the motor drive to adjust the speed of the blower based on a temperature of air discharged from the HVAC system.

A furnace includes a controller configured to instruct a blower of the furnace to increase an exhaust flowrate of the furnace, instruct a gas regulation device of the furnace to increase a fuel input rate of the furnace, or both in response to a determination that the fuel input rate is below a threshold fuel input rate for a threshold time period. In some embodiments, the controller is configured to instruct the blower to maintain an increased exhaust flowrate for a flame-stabilizing time period the gas regulation device to maintain an increased fuel input rate for the flame-stabilizing time period, or both.
