A composite backer board for wet space construction is disclosed, along with a method of producing the backer board. The board includes a rigid foam core of a suitable thickness for wet space construction. A first fabric layer is fixed to at least one face of the rigid foam core with a polymeric adhesive. A first polymer layer is on the first fabric layer in which the polymer layer is dimensionally stable parallel to the face of the rigid foam core. A second fabric layer is on the first polymer layer opposite the first fabric layer and forms a first face that is amenable to thin set mortar and related compositions in wet space construction.

Laminated foam composite backer board for wet space construction

A waterproof extrusion laminated flexible membrane that may be seamlessly applied to an irregularity on a substrate supporting a finished surface for waterproofing that includes first and second polypropylene non-woven layers each having first and second surfaces, a water impermeable HDPE oriented cross laminated film layer, a first tie layer between the first non-woven first surface and the cross laminated film layer, and a second tie layer between the second non-woven first surface and the cross laminated film layer. Other membranes and methods are also disclosed.

Waterproof membrane with cross-laminated film

A waterproof membrane includes first and second non-woven layers each having first and second surfaces. A cross laminated film layer is disposed between the first and second non-woven layers. Tie layers are applied between the non-woven layers and the cross laminated film layer. A method of making a waterproof membrane, a method of establishing a waterproof barrier between a substrate and a tile, and a flexible membrane for use in a curvilinear surface are also disclosed.

A combination for plumbing fixtures, particularly tiled floors with drains, is disclosed. An exemplary combination includes a substantially planar shower tray bonding disk on a flooring substrate and surrounded by a prefabricated polymer foam shower tray on the flooring substrate and at the circumference of the bonding disk. The disk includes an interior rim that defines a drain opening and a plurality of slotted openings for permitting mortar to penetrate the disk. The drain opening in the disk can thus be positioned at a drain cut out in the flooring substrate.

A flanged plumbing fixture having two planar fabric mortar-bondable face layers fused to opposite sides of a planar plastic core layer is made by aligning two preformed fabrics on top of each other, with connecting elements positioned between the fabrics and bonded to each of the two fabrics, positioning the connected two fabrics in a mold and centering the connected fabrics inside the mold by the connecting elements, injecting a plastic material through openings in the connecting elements, and filling the space between the two fabrics with the plastic material.
