A mud flap system is provided comprising a mounting device having a top and bottom including a walled recess extending into an inner volume of the mount and exiting out the bottom. The assembly also includes an elongated suspension bracket having a proximal end to the recess, a distal end defining a length and a thru slot running along the length, a stem extending from a bottom of the bracket at the proximal end, enabled to be inserted into the recess and out of the mounting device. A mud-flap is provided having a top having a thickness and a bottom of the mud flap is inserted through the slot and the thickness at the top suspends the mud flap until force applied to the mud flap causes the thickness at the top to deform and pass through the slot thereby releasing the mud flap from the suspension bracket.

Mud flap suspension apparatus and method of use

A throwing knife. The throwing knife comprises a body having a first end and a second end. A handle is affixed to the first end of the body, and a blade is affixed to the second end of the body. A weighted member includes a perimeter defining a central channel and is configured to slide between the handle and the body. The weight may include a ring slidably disposed along the body, or a ball inserted into a hollow channel within the body adjacent an optional packing material, or may include both types of weights. The body is narrower than both the handle and the blade, such that a ring weight disposed about the body is configured to slide between a forward edge of the handle when held by a user, and a second position wherein the weight contacts a rear edge of the blade when thrown.

A mud flap system provides a quick and convenient way to install and reinstall mud flaps. It includes a mud flap with a wedged top that slides into a lockable mud flap mount. It pulls away from the mount if hit with enough force before the mount bends or breaks. This eliminates the need for tools and complicated instructions to replace damaged mud flaps.

A polymeric composition containing internal lubricants is suitable for low friction applications. The composition contains from about 65 to about 85 weight percent of a polymeric blend and from about 15 to about 35 weight percent of internal lubricants, wherein said blend consists essentially of from about 35 to about 100 weight percent of polybenzimidazole and from about 0 to about 65 weight percent of poly(aryletherketone), and said lubricants consist essentially of graphite and boron nitride in a weight ratio of about 1:10 to about 10:1, respectively. The composition is useful for preparing shaped articles such as bearings, bearing sleeves, rings, etc.

A compactible polybenzimidazole composition contains from about 95 to about 5 weight percent of solid lubricant particles which are uniformly dispersed and encapsulated in from about 55 to about 95 weight percent of polybenzimidazole. The solid lubricant comprises graphite and boron nitride in a weight ratio of about 10:1 to about 1:10. The composition is useful for preparing self lubricating, shaped articles such as bearings, bearing sleeves, rings, seals, etc. which exhibit low friction properties.

A moldable hollow glass filled PBI composition. The composition may be prepared by making a well-mixed slurry of glass microspheres in a solution of PBI in a suitable solvent, and then spinning the slurry through a jet or die under pressure and into a water bath where the particles coagulate. The solvent dissolves in the water, allowing solvent-free PBI-glass composite particles to be isolated.

A process for the preparation of an open-celled microporous, polymer film. The improved process comprises the heat relaxing of a microporous polymer film which is formed from a non-porous, crystalline, elastic polymer film which has been uniaxially cold stretched at a temperature in the range of between about -20.degree. C. and a temperature 25.degree. C. below the crystalline melting temperature of the polymer film, followed by hot stretching, in the same direction, the cold-stretched film at a temperature in the range of between about 25.degree. C. below the crystalline melting temperature of the polymer film and 5.degree. C. below the crystalline melting temperature of the polymer film. The heat relaxing step comprises exposing the film under tension to a temperature in the range of between about 40.degree. C. below the crystalline melting temperature of the polymer film and 5.degree. C. below the crystalline melting temperature of the polymer film, such that the maximum dimension in the direction of stretch, of the cold and hot stretched microporous film is reduced.
