This invention relates to the use of chelated sodium hydridoaluminates or hydridoborates in hydride reductions of inorganic substrates. Novel or improved reductions are obtained at increased rates or selectivities in hydrocarbon media to recover metals.

Reductions of inorganic substrates with chelated sodium

As an article of manufacture, a plug shaped receptacle or hollow container made of peat, pre-shaped and reacted at conditions of temperature and pressure sufficient to cause reaction and polymerization of the naturally occuring functional groups of the peat. In preferred embodiments one or more chemical reagents are also added to react and polymerize with the natural functional groups of the peat and enhance the properties of the so formed peat container.

Process and composition for improving the octane quality of naphthas. An iridium-containing catalyst, particularly a catalyst of an admixture of platinum, iridium, and either iron or bismuth, or both, composited with a porous, inorganic oxide base, inclusive of halogen, is found especially useful in reforming particularly in redispersing agglomerated iridium in reactivation of the catalyst.
