One exemplary embodiment of this disclosure relates to a compressor system. The system includes a compressor and a back-flow limiting device. The back-flow limiting device has a turbine wheel and is arranged downstream of the compressor.

Low back pressure flow limiter

One exemplary embodiment of this disclosure relates to a refrigerant compressor for use in a chiller system. The compressor includes an electric motor arranged upstream of a stage of a compressor in the main refrigerant flow path. This disclosure also relates to an axial flow compressor of a relatively high capacity, and a recirculation feature for the same.

Axial flow compressor for HVAC chiller systems

A centrifugal compressor according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, an impeller provided in a main flow path and configured to pressurize a main flow of fluid. The compressor also includes a secondary flow path configured to provide a secondary flow by recirculating a portion of the main flow. The amount of the main flow that becomes the secondary flow is less than or equal to 15%. A method is also disclosed.
