A fiber-reinforced component for use in a gas turbine engine includes a first braided fiber sleeve forming a cooling channel and a plurality of fiber plies enclosing the first braided fiber sleeve, with the plurality of fiber plies forming first and second walls separated by the first braided fiber sleeve. The fiber-reinforced component further includes a matrix material between fibers of the braided fiber sleeve and the plurality of fiber plies.

A blade outer air seal assembly includes a support structure. A blade outer air seal has a plurality of seal segments arranged circumferentially about an axis and mounted in the support structure by a carrier. The carrier has first and second hooks that extend radially outward from a platform along an axial length of the carrier. The first and second hooks are in engagement with the support structure.

A blade outer air seal assembly includes a support structure and a blade outer air seal having a plurality of segments extending circumferentially about an axis and mounted to the support structure. At least two segments have a base portion extending from a first circumferential side to a second circumferential side, a first protrusion extending from the first circumferential side and having a first slot, and a second protrusion extending from the second circumferential side and having a second slot. A feather seal is arranged in the first slot and the second slot between the at least two segments such that the feather seal is pivotable between first and second positions in response to relative movement between the first and second protrusions.

A blade outer air seal includes a carrier that has a dovetail and a ceramic seal segment supported on the dovetail. The ceramic seal segment has first and second axial ends, first and second circumferential sides, an inner side, an outer side, and first and second inward-facing dovetail hooks that project from the outer side and define a dovetail key. The ceramic seal segment is axially receivable onto the dovetail of the carrier via the dovetail key.

A mandrel for a molding process. The mandrel includes a first portion that has a first draft surface and a second draft surface. A second portion and a third portion are included. The second portion has a third draft surface and the third portion has a fourth draft surface wherein the first draft surface engages the third draft surface and the second draft surface engages the fourth draft surface. A channel extends along a length of the mandrel at an interface between the first, second, and third portions such that the second portion does not contact the third portion.

A gas turbine engine includes a turbine section having a turbine rotor and at least one blade extending outwardly of the turbine rotor. The turbine rotor rotates about an axis of rotation. A blade outer air seal is positioned radially outward of the at least one blade. The blade outer air seal has an axially forward hook and an axially aft hook supported to static structure. An axial seal is attached to static structure forward of the forward hook, and has a sealing portion extending in an aft direction. A sealing surface member is positioned intermediate an aft end of the axial seal and a forward end of the forward hook to provide a sealing surface for sealing between the seal and the blade outer air seal.

A blade outer air seal assembly includes a support structure. A blade outer air seal has a plurality of seal segments that extend circumferentially about an axis and mounted in the support structure via a carrier. The carrier has a plurality of carrier segments that extend circumferentially about the axis. At least one of the seal segments have a base portion that extends between a first circumferential side and a second circumferential side and from a first axial side to a second axial side. A first wall axially spaced from a second wall. The first and second walls extend from the base portion to a first outer portion to form a first passage. The first wall has at least one slot engaged with a first carrier hook on one of the plurality of carrier segments. At least one of the carrier segments have a carrier window engaged with a support structure hook on the support structure.

A blade outer air seal has a plurality of segments that extend circumferentially about an axis and mounted in the carrier. A pin extends through the hole and the aperture.

A blade outer air seal assembly includes a support structure. A blade outer air seal has a plurality of segments that extends circumferentially about an axis and is mounted in the support structure. At least two of the segments have a base portion that extends from a first circumferential side to a second circumferential side. A first protrusion extends from the first circumferential side and has a first radially extending slot. A second protrusion extends from a second circumferential side and has a second radially extending slot. A feather seal is arranged in the first radially extending slot and the second radially extending slot between at least two segments.

At least two of the plurality of segments have a first wall and a second wall circumferentially spaced from one another and a base portion that extends from the first wall to the second wall. The base portion extends circumferentially outward past the first and second walls to form first and second sealing surfaces. An intersegment seal has a curved surface. The curved surface is engaged with the first and second sealing surfaces between the at least two segments.

A method of manufacturing a component includes forming an inner wrap about a mandrel. The inner wrap has first and second walls joined by a base portion and an outer wall. A rod is arranged at each of the first and second walls. An outer wrap is formed about the inner wrap and the rods to form a body. Features are formed in the first and second walls.

A method of forming a blade outer air seal includes applying a cavity layer that has a plurality of cavities to a radially inner side of a seal body. The cavity layer is coated with an abradable coating.
