An apparatus for precision shaving is provided. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes an endmill cutter, a base frame, and a motor adjacent to the base frame and having a shaft on one end. A coupler is positioned between the shaft and the endmill cutter. A positioning slide is housed within the base frame and a coupler frame and a first gear are fastened to the positioning slide. A second gear is adjacent to the first gear, the second gear having a set of first teeth and a set of second teeth positioned opposite the set of first teeth. The set of first teeth and the set of second teeth are separated by a gap.

Surface precision defect shaver

A collet chuck for use in boring through a workpiece that provides a cooling and cleaning fluid to the element that is machining the workpiece. One end of the collet chuck is coupled to the drive end of a motor and its other end retains the machining element. The motor provides a rotational force to the collet chuck and machining element used in machining the workpiece. The machining element, which can be a drill bit or reamer, includes an axial passage that communicates with an annulus in the chuck. The cooling/cleaning fluid flows into the annulus through a rotary seal that circumscribes the collet chuck.

A system for removing failed fasteners from structures removes the head of the fastener in a controlled manner with precise support and alignment for the cutting tool. A drill guide, drill bushings and the cutting tool mount virtually anywhere on an underlying structure using existing fasteners and receptacles formed in the structure. This design permits the drill guide to be rigidly attached to the structure so that the cutting tool can be positioned and supported directly over the failed fastener. After the drill guide is mounted, a drill bit is extended through the drill bushing to drill a pilot hole in the failed fastener. The cutting tool is used through the drill bushing to cut off the head of the failed fastener without contacting the surrounding structure. All operations required to remove the failed fastener are accomplished through the drill bushings contained in the mounted drill guide.

System, method and apparatus for removing failed fasteners

A pneumatic feed drill has a control unit that repeatedly advances and retracts the drill bit in peck cycles while drilling the hole. The drill has a hydraulic damper cylinder with a damper rod protruding from it that limits the speed of advancement of the drill bit. A retainer device is mounted to the damper rod and prevents the damper rod from resetting to its initial position during the peck cycles. The retainer device releases the damper rod to reset when the drill bit has reached total depth. A safety device is pivotally mounted to the housing and has a closure tab that blocks access to the start button of the drill unless the damper rod is in its initial position.

A system, method, and apparatus for the rigid alignment of drill bits with ergonomic drill motors is disclosed. An adjustable nosepiece adapter is mounted to the ergonomic drill motor adjacent the drill bit chuck. The adapter has a split clamp portion on its distal end for receiving a pressure foot. A guide bushing fits in the proximal end of the pressure foot. A coil spring is located in the pressure foot and allows the guide bushing to telescope within the pressure foot. The drill bit extends through the guide bushing, pressure foot, and adapter and is secured to the chuck. The distal end of the guide bushing fits closely within a hole in a template that is secured to the workpiece to provide holes that are more accurately formed in the workpiece.

System, method, and apparatus for drill bit alignment and depth control with ergonomic drill motors

A forcible entry tool includes a hollow housing having a blind-ended bore defined therein with a stop shoulder located on a fore end of the housing and extending into the bore. A rod is slidably mounted in the housing bore and includes an abutment on a rear end thereof that is impacted by the shoulder when the housing is moved on the rod. The shoulder and the rod abutment are located inside the housing. A work element is attached to the distal end of the rod, and is engaged with a building security device, such as window bars, to pull that security device off of the building when the housing impacts the rod abutment. Various weights and weight distributions can be provided to adjust and customize the tool for the particular job or the particular user. One or more handles can be attached to the housing.
